Blue waves, like skies in your eyes,

become oceans of surprise

when you see me.

It's almost as if you don't know

that you hold my heart

between your careful fingers.

Red blood, like water on my hand

becomes the life of a dead man

when I kill him.

You were okay with your fear

when I kissed and held you near

and now the feeling lingers.

Yellow flowers, like sun on skin

become happiness lied within

when you smile.

I smiled with you that day

and also that night

as we saw the stars shine.

Green leaves, like envy on me,

become anger and jealousy

when she found you.

I didn't want to lose

the one I fell for;

the one who used to be mine.

Black death, like the void itself,

becomes the end of me, myself

when she shot me.

Will I ever see you

wishing I was there?

'Cus now, I'm out of time.

Hi! It's been a while, hasn't it?

Nonetheless, while I've been busy doing goodness knows what, I found the time to do a writing competition. This is the second challenge of the competition, and I'm still so excited about the entire thing that I decided that I might as well cash in on a bit of the fun while the writers are busy. ;D

The challenge is called "Perfect Poetry" and I challenged the writers to write three poems to represent the underrated community of poets on here, since believe it or not, poetry is kind of glossed over on FanFiction, and I thought it would be a good testament to those who write poetry to set this challenge for them.

If you want to spectate more of the competition and our antics (and wait around to compete in Season Two), then there's a link on my profile!

I wish that Fanfiction would allow me to space out the parts of the poem, but it's not letting me. Oh well!

This poem is one of the three categories assigned in the challenge - romance. I always thought that there was a connection between Peeta and Cato, so I figured, why not make it gay and adorable? A lot of people see this pairing as weird and different, but I always remind myself that if you can't try something new then you're going to get bored with something old. This is from Cato's POV and I thought it could have been interesting to see the vulnerable side to our favourite ice cold career, hence the direction I took this in.

I hope you enjoy this! Feel free to PM or review me what you think and give me some precious feedback :D

Over and out!
