Hello. My first update here. I'm figuring this out still. I own neither Darker Than Black, nor Lost Christmas.

The Gate Phenomenon. For years, scientists struggled to understand what happened that day... The stars became clouded, vanishing. When they skies cleared from the fallout, the stars were different, in South America, plants evolved, so it stands to reason that others would as well. Men lost their consciences, becoming irrevocably changed, gaining powers that they used with extreme rationale. With these powers came three distinct types. Dolls; soulless watchers capable of watching through a medium, whether water, animal, phone, or mirror, Contractors; extremely rational people who s powers are followed by an Obeisance , each differs basing itself on who they were before the Gates rose. A man who hated books may end up burning them, an alcoholic may need to drink a beer. Last of them all is the Moratorum; like Contractors, they have power, but having no obeisance, they use their powers until they burn out, resulting in near or complete death. Scientists studied the Gates for years, and had only one idea... To build walls.

Then, came the incident. One of the Gates had a war break out. Contractors against man. Hell's Gate vanished in a flash of light, and Heaven's Gate was alone.

After 10 years, an asteroid struck a campground, creating a ten-mile crater. They called this asteroid Wormwood. Yet, the asteroid left behind something, a piece of diamond that stored a soul inside it. One of three survivors of the asteroid. The diamond was broken, the survivors forgotten, and stars rained from the sky as Contractors were killed and killing each other. Three stars appeared in this time of darkness, two outshining the others as something new A king and queen of a new era.

2 more years passed, and a building appeared, warping time and space in accident, something was strange about this building, it was silent, unmoving, lifeless. No light shown from its windows, no people came from inside. But curiosity made anyone who neared it, vanish. Occasionally such a vanishing would be accompanied by a falling star, a sure sign that someone or something was there And it was dangerous.

Many more years passed, and the building lay forgotten. But such things should not be forgotten, for what lurks inside them can be deadly...
