Chapter One
"Mommy, I'm tired!" the four year old girl behind Nichole's seat whined. Her name is Aurora Black. Daughter of the future chief, Jacob Black.
"I know baby. We will be home soon. You get to see daddy tonight." Nichole said, looking in the rearview mirror of the car. It was a cloudy night in the small town of Forks, Washington. Nichole was visiting some family in Tucson and is just now reaching her town at 2 a.m.
"But I wanna be home now!" Aurora cried, crocodile tears streaming down her face.
"Aurora, we are home, stop crying please." Jacob was already outside when they pulled up. When Nichole opened the door a huge smile spread across Jacob's face.
"Hello my beautiful ladies. How was your trip?"
"Long." Said Nichole, while pulling crying Aurora out from the car. Jacob pulled Aurora out of Nichole's arms and threw her up in the air, as she started giggling. "She missed you, you know. I told you you should have gone with us. It would have been a lot easier with you there."
"I know, I know. But I'm in training right now, and with being leader of the pack its not possible for me to leave." Jacob whispered, carrying the two bags and Aurora in the house. "Dad! The girls are back!" Billy wheeled into the kitchen.
"Hello, Nichole." Billy said coldly.
"Hi there Billy." Right before Nichole left for Tucson, Billy started a fight with Nichole about taking Aurora with her. He claimed that it wasn't safe to take her anywhere away from Jacob because there was "vampires" that are out for revenge on the pack. Nichole hasn't believed in fairytales since she was 7. Then he went off on saying that they were wolves and kept on and on. Nichole wondered why he was still chief with all the nonsense he talks.
"How was your trip?" he asked.
"Completely uneventful." She answered, while smiling. Billy scoffed and walked away. Nichole turned to Jacob. When are you going to stop postponing the wedding? I think he'll accept me more if you actually marry me. You say you can't live without me. Then prove it. Please." She said with tears in her eyes. She walked out of the kitchen.
