This is what I get for playing internet Mah Jong. I don't really know how this story came to be, other then that it was late and I was bored.

Willy Wonka strikes me as someone who would start (And probably not finish) a game like Mah Jong Solitaire. I don't know why, he just does. Anyways, you can read for yourself and see what you think.

"What're you doing, Mr. Wonka?"

Willy Wonka looked up at his heir, Charlie Bucket, and smiled crookedly. "Playing Mah Jong!" He said, putting a flourish on the last two words.

Charlie nodded before asking, "What's Mah Jong?"

"It's a Chinese game," Willy replied, returning to a crouched position over a small table filled with tiles. "You have to match these tile thingy-mabobbers until there are none left. It is said to be relaxing, but I don't know how anyone in their right mind could be relaxed by this. I fortunately am in my left mind, and can enjoy this game to its full potential."

Charlie nodded slowly. He wasn't even going to try to understand. He watched Willy play for a moment. "Isn't it hard?"

"No, but I can't say as it's soft, either."

"I mean: is it difficult?"

"Er, no, but I must admit it is more difficult while wearing gloves."

"Then why don't you take them off?" Charlie asked reasonably.

"Don't want to." Wonka replied with a shrug.

"Then why did you bring it up?"
"So that you'll never be forced to play this game with gloves, like I am."

Charlie started to bring up that no one was forcing Willy to do anything. Finally he just rolled his eyes and decided to let it be.

Charlie pulled a chair up across from Willy. "So… Can you match those two?"

"Nah. They've gotta have one long side with nothing touching them."

"What?"

"Well… Ya see, since this tile is pinned in by these other two tiles, I can't move it. But this tile only has one other tile bordering it, so I can move it."

"Oh. Why?"

"Haven't the slightest idea."

"Oh." Charlie stared quizzically at the Mah Jong pieces, trying to figure out Mr. Wonka's game. Finally he stood. "I'm going to the Inventing Room." He found the statement to be horribly pointless, although it seemed to be just the opportunity that Willy was looking for.

"I'll go with you!" He exclaimed, leaping to his feet. "This is boring!"

"I thought you enjoyed Mah Jong."

"I changed my mind."

Charlie shrugged. "Alright…"

As they walked away from the now-boring Mah Jong set, Willy smiled faintly. 'What do you think about eatable Mah Jong pieces? Eat 'em as you match 'em!"

"Um… Let's work on the Everlasting Gobstoppers some more."

Willy pouted. "'Kay. But once we perfect them…"

Well that was pointless. Fun, but pointless. My apologies if I have the rules of Mah Jong incorrect. My experience is with the game is nothing but some online games and something I read on Wikipedia this morning. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little (Little) ficlet. Please review!
