Naruto doesn't belong to me.

Prologue

It happens after the 4th great war. Sakura let's herself go. Let's go of the past hurt and pain of being in love with Sasuke. No more of chasing after him. No more wanting and hoping he will turn and look at her ( even begin to return a fraction of her feelings ). Isn't it good that he stopped from his path of hatred. The war's over.

She is not unreasonably greedy. She knows what's good, what's bad, what's agony and what to be grateful for. To cherish and hold precious.

Together with everyone, they must keep walking towards the future healing, building, creating and living. For those who can't and helped make it possible for those who can.

War is hard won. Peace even harder to keep.

It takes a couple of years for the chaos of the aftermath to get fully sorted. It really helps that everyone wants to keep this peace.

Well, the five great Shinobi nations do any.

A world where there's no evil and evildoer? Everyone wants flowers and rainbows? Fucking please. Tell that to anyone, they will pound you to the other side of the planet then drag back to a mental hospital to get your head sorted.

And really ask them, what have they been smoking.

The hidden villages have had a lot taken from them and everyone is ready to live in peace.

For the first time in their history, they won't be at each others throats secretly planning for the time to destroy the other.

Honestly the way Sasuke becomes such small part of her life, something from the past kind of thing despite chasing after him and team 7 with Naruto from 12 to the time of war , it is not surprising now that Sakura thinks about it carefully.

Hasn't she been living all this time without him everyday. She has already made a life of her own in those years while waiting his return.

When the war ended the story that started at 12 years old between team 7 came to a close. Oh no. Their bond didn't break nor did they break off all ties and connection to each other.

Far from it.

Only that they have made peace with each other, to their past self's.

Sasuke's time in the village is exactly two years. Afterwards he goes on a journey of redemption. They understand, she understands and doesn't try to stop him neither does she try to join. It is what he needs to do and chooses to do. Sakura herself has her own path to walk on.

Their paths may meet or may not.

Sakura smiles.

...

Naturally Konoha's relationship with Suna is the strongest and the most good.

Its not paper and treaties but the bonds between it's people that have made them sister villages.

If the other hidden villages envy it ? Oh well.

People think that Sakura will stay holed up in the hospital working non stop and Honestly she thought so too. And the immediate years after the war that's what happened.

But that is not how she wants spend the rest of her life. She does not want to became a workaholic. She wants to save life's and heal people and she will! That's never going to stop, no doubt for that.

Only she doesn't want to miss out on life only to realize one day that time had flown by before she knew it. Before she could gasp hold of it for a bit. That she will turn old and miss the best time of her life.

When Sakura takes a break from the hospital and later brings her schedule to normal, all her friends sighed in relief.

They had been really worried about her working too hard like that.

After retiring from being Hokage ( she practically threw the hat at Kakashi. Good thing he dodged, there had been a dent in the wall from that behind him. ) Lady Tsunade had taken being in charge full time with Shizune faithfully following behind her.

There wasn't any real reason for Sakura to be worried about the hospital. It was in good hands.

She can live for herself now too.
