Prologue

"What is it?" I heard the SMA sneer, his voice just dripping with unnecessary venom. "Well?" he spat. I heard the nervous messenger rattle off explanations, saying that that there was a man outside, with proof of some kind. "I think his name Jefferson." Shit, she wasn't meant to say my name! What were the odds that I would get in now?

"Jefferson, Tom Jefferson? You mean that snivelling, weak, worthless piece of shit of a man hasn't been locked up in some asylum somewhere? And he has PROOF? This I have got to see, send him in... Well, why are you still her? MOVE GIRL!" A few minutes later a scared, shaking girl came out of his office.

"He- he'd l-like to see you n-now," she stuttered before scurrying of somewhere, her sobs ringing through the hallways. I winced, I wanted to go see her, make sure she was okay. But this proof, it explained everything. And once it got public, the world will never be the same.

"This was it" he thought "the proof that the monsters in the dark really did exist." For once, I had undeniable evidence that they were real. For once I wouldn't get my theories shoved back in my face with a laugh. For years I had tried to expose them, and so had my dad before me. When he was my age, he was doing the same thing as I, before they killed him. Before they drained him of his blood because he got to close to revealing them. "Don't worry father, soon everyone will know."

I walking into Sergeant Major Handey's office, clutching my briefcase in my hand and sweeping my a handkerchief across my forehead, trying to rid myself of sweat. It, of course, was no use, for the minute I saw Hadley's evil smirk my nerves got the better of me. It was stupid really to think that I would have been able to hold it together.

"Well, if it isn't Thomas Jefferson Junior. How is your old man these days? Oops, I forgot. He's worm food now isn't he?" I clenched my fists together, my knuckles turning white "I will not punch him. I need him. I will not punch him," the words kept repeating themselves over an over in my head, quickly turning into my new mantra. Me and father tried for years to tell the government of our findings and I wasn't going to loose my opportunity over some condescending asshole.

"So, Jefferson. Proof eh? Sure your not just as batshit crazy as your dad?" ignoring his childish taunts, I unlocked the clutches of my briefcase and opened it. I took the life-changing facts out and laid them on the desk.

"This Sergeant Major, is the unquestionable evidence that Vampires walk among us." the satisfaction I felt when I saw his eyes pop out of his head was immense. To top that off his jaw fell open. "You should probably close that mouth of yours, wouldn't want you to catch any flies, would we?" I spoke with a knew found confidence, no one would dare laugh at me any more, as I had just proofed that Vampires walked this earth.

A/N- That do you think? Should I continue, tell me in a review if I should write more chapters. This story will revolve around Rose and her gang's troubles as they fight their way through a world of humans knowing their greatest secret. But I was wondering when the story should take place, I was thinking either after Lissa becomes Queen, just after Dimitri says "love fades, mine has" or when they're still at St Vladimirs. what do you think? PLEASE REVIEW!

P.S The chapters will get bigger!
