Dear Evan Hansen,
Today is gonna be a great day and here's why.
"I remember when I used to do this, when I used to 'step on the brake before I even turn the key' as I used to say." Evan said while looking at one of his old letters to himself. "Are you looking at your old sex letters again" Jared says. Evan rolls his eyes and says," why did I choose you as my roommate?" than Jared counters and says,"cause I'm you're only freind." they both laugh and then walk out of their dorm room and go to the campus lawn. as they walk to their next classes Zoe Murphy catches up with Evan and Evan says,"hey, are you gonna come to dinner with me and Jared tonight." "Sure," Zoe replies and then they walk to class and take seats right next to each other. class was pretty boring so Zoe started to scribble stars in the cuffs of her jeans. after class they went to the caffeteria to get lunch and talk about connor, Zoe's dead brother."I wish I met connor" Evan said. "I know," Zoe said saddly. they then, finished lunch, and finished the day. and went to dinner with Jared. Evan was the designated driver of course, and they had dinner and Zoe got a text, she checked her phone her stomach dropped and she left the table. Jared broke the tension and said," well shes upset maybe she saw your sex letter." she comes back to the table and tells Evan to come outside. He did. and showed Evan her phone: Heidi (Evans mom): Evans dad just texted me and said he was coming to see Evan, how should I tell him. Evan's stomach drops. both of them start to worry about it, they call Jared over and show him the text. Evan drives Zoe home and him and Jared go to sleep when they get to their dorm. the next day they don't have classes, so they talk about how Evan's dad is going to go see him from Colorado. Jared gets the dorm decorated for the first time Evan and his dad will meet since he was 7. Zoe gets the refreshments ready and Evan finishes breaking in his baseball glove. 6 hours later his dad arrives "Evan, You've grown so much" Harry Hansen (Evan hansen's dad) said."Dad?" Evan said ."Hello, I'm Zoe, Evan's girlfriend" Zoe says. Harry Hansen greets and gets to know all three of them and then they all go to dinner.They have fun and Harry drives them all home. Harry drives back to Colorado, missing his son, regretting abandoning him so young. He wished he could've played catch with Evan, tought him how to tie a tie, How to dance, and most importantly been there for him. But hey, heidi did a good job. as Jared goes back to his dorm, he talks to Evan about his night and how he though it was successful. once they get home they go to sleep. Zoe tells Evan how much she liked his dad, and everyone except for Evan and Harry Thought the night was amazing. Evan thought, he needed to go see his dad in Colorado. "Zoe," Evan said, "I'm going to Colorado to see me dad, I need to do more than just have dinner with him. so in 2 weeks, for spring break I'm going to go see my dad." Zoe was worried but said, " ok but you need to bring Jared with you." Evan agreed and started planning for his trip. And, in 2 weeks he was off.
