I Love You Captain Levi

In Petra's final moments she confesses to Captain Levi

Disclaimer: Attack on Titan doesn't belong to me

The terrible act had already been committed; Petra remained pressed up against a tree. She heard a lot of bones break and could feel a lot of them were broken. Her body was in a world of pain—mind numbingly so. And yet she wasn't dead, she didn't understand it. The Female Titan had squashed her like a bug and yet she was there breathing and contemplating her situation. She heard ODM gear from the distance, reinforcements must have arrived, she thought to herself. She slipped into unconsciousness.

When she woke up she felt the warm afternoon air hit her skin but it felt to fast to be a breeze blowing over her, she even felt as though she were moving. She opened her eyes fully to see that she was being carried by Captain Levi. He'd stopped and landed far enough away from the battlefield and slowly leaned her against a fallen tree.

"Captain… "he said nothing in response and remained looking ahead of them. "Why did you save…the amount of damage I sustained is critical, there's nothing anyone can do for me…I'm…" she trailed off

"Going to die?" he answered for her rather bitterly "You think I don't know that?" his voice wasn't steady "I'm being selfish now, I want your last moments to be spent with me" he turned around and got down on his knees next to her.

"Levi…" the first time she'd ever addressed the captain without his title. But this was the only time she had to do this so she wasn't going to waste it. She held his hands as she spoke and when she looked up, she could see him trying to be strong for her by wearing a somewhat emotionless expression, but she saw right through him.

"Don't try to talk you could make your condition worse"

"Whether I talk or not the result will be the same so I might as well tell you how I feel about you" she squeezed his hands "You know it's funny, the truth only comes out during our final moments. I had so many opportunities to tell you— she began breathing erratically

"Petra stop talking" he panicked

"No let me finish…" she answered breathlessly "What I'm trying to say is that—

"You love me" a tear slid down his cheek "I know… I've known for a while now but I chose to keep quiet" he couldn't hold back his tears anymore

Petra smiled weakly and despite her body's protests to remain as she was, she lifted her hand to cup his cheek.

"Levi you of all people know that we're not supposed to let personal feelings get in the way. What happened to the calm, seemingly indifferent man that I grew so accustomed to and ended up loving?" she smiled at him "Levi could you do me a favour?"

"Anything"

"Could you…?" she concentrated on his eyes and he got the message immediately and managed a small smile

"Of course" he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers in a gentle yet passionate kiss. The sensation and relief of finally kissing Captain Levi warmed her inside. But as she tried to lean forward a sharp pain shot through her causing her to break the kiss. Levi tried to lean away but she held on to him.

"Please don't stop, the pain is worth it" she then pulled him towards her and closed the gap between their lips with her own and continuously kissed him. She broke away from him after a few seconds; she felt herself grow dizzy and when she opened her eyes her vision was blurry. Time was catching up with her and she knew it.

"I love you Captain Levi" she whispered and closed her eyes; never again reopening them, and her hand fell limp

"I love you too Petra" he held both her hands in his; but his words fell on deaf ears; she hadn't heard him return his feelings of love—

She was already dead.
