I know this is whole Khan thing is pretty played out right now, but I hope you'll find this an interesting concept.

Prologue

"You are familiar with the criminal known as Khan, is that correct?"

She blinked into the harsh light, but didn't look away. The only other thing in the room to look at was the Starfleet officer across the table from her. That or the mirror on the wall that she knew to be a window from the other side. She couldn't bring herself to look at it either. She blinked again, this time holding her hand up to shield her eyes from the invasive fluorescent lights.

"Can we get the lights dimmed slightly?" she asked, ignoring the man's first question.

He gestured to the man standing just behind the door. The lights dimmed, but were hardly less invasive.

"Do you know Khan?" the man asked.

"No," she replied, finally looking at him.

"No? Then why are you here?" the man asked, trying to be patient with her.

"Because I know John Harrison," she said bluntly.

"Would it make you more comfortable if we referred to him as Mr. Harrison?"

"Well I don't know who Khan is so I would say so."

"That's fine. That's fine. How long have you known Mr. Harrison?" the interviewer asked as he folded his hands on the table between them.

"A little over a year ago," she answered quietly.

"How did you meet?"

A small smile touched her lips as she looked down at her hands. "I was the ranking officer in charge of the department he was assigned to."

"Which was?"

"I'm sure you have it on file."

"Just for the interview."

"Special Weapons," she answered, "In the design branch."

"Did you notice anything odd about Mr. Harrison when you first met him?" the interviewer asked and the woman frowned.

"Odd how?"

"Anything that made him seem more than human."

She smiled a little.

"Everything."

I hope you enjoyed and will review. The whole thing will not be in interview format, but rather a flashback with maybe other interviews intervening. Let me know what you think.
