"You're a cop because you don't know how not to be one. If you feel that way, you're a cop. If you don't, you're not. You decide. It seems like it changes nothing... but every once and awhile, you get to take a bad guy off the streets for good. And that, my friend, is God's work."
Gun shots. They are heard at the beginning of a race. They are heard at joyous victories. But they can be heard before a body drops.
A body of a once living human.
A human who feels pain.
I've shot someone twice in the chest, not just once. I've killed a human being to save another, to "wipe out another bad guy off the streets for good".
I am here to serve my community, to protect the innocent.
I am not here to bring body bags, to send people to their graves.
I am here to do everyone a favor, not to take lives.
But it is the only way I can do my job.
There is no way to avoid it.
I am a cop equipped with a badge and a Glock, supplied by the LAPD.
But I am a cop whom God has also equipped with a conscience.
