I've seen someone's life fall apart. Like a mirror, shattering
into pieces. No matter how well you put it back together, the reflection
is always distorted. Although it's not sudden. It's more like, well, hitting
the center with a mallet and watching the mirror crack, fall apart... splintering...
and knowing that putting it back together won't fix it, that staring into
that mirror, you won't see what others see when looking at you. You might
see yourself, the you that only you see, but never the you others see.
The mirror isn't going to work. Maybe that's why, after your life is reduced
to shards, you don't know who you truly are, only your outside... and no
one is their outside.
