Disclimer:I don't own Fire Emblem. If I did, half dragon Eliwood would be canon.
Life
I cursed my own ignorance.
This isn't life. This is only something vaguely resembling life. I don't think I can call myself alive after I made that choice.
I let my sister stay with the boy she loved, at the cost of her lifespan. But I knew that one of us had to step through the Gate and seal it.
At this point, I wouldn't mind giving up my own lifespan as well. But I know it's pointless. They're dead. Ninian, Lord Eliwood, Lord Hector, Lady Lyndis, Nino… they can't be alive at this point.
I heard a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I called halfheartedly. I didn't want my thoughts of the past to break.
"Are you Nils?" The knocker answered. I couldn't fully recognize his voice, but he sounded young, and vaguely similar to…
"Lord Eliwood? Did your voice change?" I open the door to see a boy of about my height with red hair and blue eyes standing in front of me. "…Did you grow shorter? Or am I just taller?"
"We've never met." He shifted a little. "I suppose this is sudden, but… your name is Nils, right? You had a sister called Ninian, who married the person you just mistook me for, correct?"
"Yes?" I answered, trying to figure out what this boy was saying.
"I'm your nephew." I dropped my flute.
"My… you're Lord Eliwood and Ninian's…" I began to feel tears wash down my cheeks. I knew my sister and the others were dead. But I had forgotten how the cycle of life always continues. Now, I can barely believe that I was that sentimental. Life has strange way of telling you of the hope the future holds.
Glac wrote something that ends happily? WOW. Though, I nearly cried while writing this (though the .5 speed Reminiscence may have something to do with it).
Prompt: Life. Those of you not part of the RANDOM (It's also a general game/anime/manga forum now) will probably laugh at the next prompt as soon as you see it. Or you can just visit the forum and see for yourself.
