Chocolate
"What do you mean, you dislike chocolate?" Adim asked.
Aarch shrugged. He didn't feel he had to explain away his lack of interest in chocolate products.
"I just happen not to like them", he said.
"Why? It was Valentine's Day yesterday and you didn't even taste the candy I gave you."
"I'm not fond of Valentine's Day, either," he said. And Adim sighed.
"Okay", she said. "You think it's just an artificial event that was probably invented by card-sellers or florists. Good point."
"Don't speak badly of florists: that would be insulting both my dad and my brother!"
She stared at him and then they both burst into laughter. Then he pat her hand, smiled and explained:
"You have to dislike Valentine's day when your dad grows and sells flowers for a living. All those days preparing those red roses, and then having to tell the same thing to all clients all day long even if you know things you shouldn't know…"
"Like?" she asked.
"Once there was a client that bought two dozen roses: one dozen for his wife and one dozen for his mistress. Not very romantic, is it?"
She sighed. He had a point.
"Okay", she said. "What about having dinner together tonight?"
"Great idea! But please, no chocolate."
The end.
