Who would have known a simple touch could start a fire too deep too put out? One graze of skin; an act set to flames. Something's started, and Olivia didn't know how to end it. Only, there was no ending it. The desire would not fade. She could not do it. She couldn't possibly imagine herself falling in love with a woman. Straighter than an arrow, and as careful as a surgeon, this couldn't be happening. She was prepared for every, and anything. An opposite sex attraction, however, was where she lost her balance and started falling.
Hard.
There was something about those cerulean eyes, and that southern accent that just drew her in like a moth to light. Olivia was certain it was just on the outside she was attracted to. No, it couldn't be that gorgeous brain, or her beautiful personality. Just a physical attraction, nothing more or so Olivia thought. God, she doubted the blonde even knew that something was going on. If she did, she hadn't said anything. It was factual knowledge that the younger woman was into women. It just wasn't like Olivia to act that way. Remembering when they held hands at the cryogenics office to get the info on a case, the brunette figured that was the start.
That's what started the wild fire.
"Liv," A voice called, pulling Olivia out of her halcyon daze.
Olivia looked up from her stacks of files to find Amanda leaning over her, eyes filled with concern. Their faces were inches away. Olivia felt that same thing spark in her that usually happened when she was in close contact with the younger woman.
"You okay?" Amanda asked, her hand grazing Olivia's shoulder.
The seasoned detective turned back to her work. "Yeah," She cleared her throat and hoped Amanda would just go back to her work. "I'm fine." Out of her peripheral vision, she saw Amanda bite her lip.
"You don't look okay." Rollins said concerned.
The fire was spreading. Olivia figured one more touch of Amanda's cool skin could end this. Just to stop the need.
Olivia stood up, facing the blonde. This is getting out of hand. She watched carefully as Amanda bit her lip once more.
Before either woman knew what happened, Olivia had Amanda pinned between her and the desk; Olivia's arm around her waist and Amanda's hand gripping the soft fabric covering the brunette's shoulder. Their first kiss was rough, but hesitant. The taste of Amanda's lips on her own was a new type of foreign to her counter-part. Olivia was waiting for the moment Amanda pushed her away, it never came.
After the brief kiss, Amanda pulled back. "Why did you do that?"
"I-I don't know." Olivia replied, blinking in shock from the sternness in Amanda's voice.
Amanda ran her hand down her face. She sighed and wrapped her arms around Olivia's waist, pulling the detective impossibly closer.
She smirked slightly and brought her face closer to Olivia's. "How about we try that again, hmm
tbc?
