Uncle Billy

My Uncle Billy can sometimes be really funny, I like my Uncle Billy.

Sometimes mum says he's a little silly.

I like to play with my Uncle Billy; I like to have a game of cricket.

When I'm bowling I always hit the wicket.

My Uncle Billy buys me lots of toys; when my Uncle Billy comes to stay my mum always complains about the noise.

On Saturdays my Uncle Billy takes me to the town market.

We bought mum a present, a brand new carpet.

Dad didn't like the carpet; he said it looked like an old shirt.

Both Uncle Billy and I were very hurt.

Mum told dad off and apologised to Uncle Billy, then mum told dad not to be so silly.

On Sunday Uncle Billy, dad and I went fishing, for hours we sat there.

For dinner tonight I wandered what to wear; my jeans or trousers, jumper and tie.

As I gazed into the water something caught my eye.

Bobbing at the end of my line was the float and the bait; a big juicy fly.

At the end of the day all that was caught, only from me was a big green root.

Dad caught an old man's boot.

Uncle Billy caught the best, a big fat fish; that will be a treat for tonight's dish.

Uncle Billy has to go back on Monday morning, I want him to stay mum says he has to go away.

Still he will be back next weekend, Uncle Billy and I can once more drive mum and dad round the bend.

So roll on next Saturday so I can get some more toys and of course make some more noise.

Good bye for now Uncle Billy, Mum's right he really is silly.
