Prologue:
In the millions of mountains in the northern region of Fiore, a labyrinth of tunnels has been created underneath them. A single man lives in these mountains, a man of great power. He has lived alone in these mountains for so long, he has forgotten the number of years. The towns that lie at the edge of the mountains say that sometimes you could hear crying at night. No one in that town is sure if he's real or not, but it has become such a big issue that it's been ranked an S-class quest just to find him. Hundreds of wizards have tried, thinking it would be easy, but they always come back injured, and not knowing how.
In a certain city named Magnolia, an S-class wizard is about to take this quest, a quest that will change her life forever. Her name is, "Erza Scarlet."
Chapter One: The Letter
It was a brisk, chilly morning in Magnolia. The guild Fairy Tail has just opened and its wizards are gathering there to socialize and go job hunting. A familiar pink haired wizard and ice mage are busy beating each other up as usual. The celestial mage and the bookworm were chatting about books and jobs.
Then Titania enters, Erza Scarlet. She walks quickly up to the counter of the bar, trying to keep her usual, and composed self. "Mira, who sent me this letter?" she questioned Mirajane while holding an envelope with a wax seal of a hammer and pickaxe crossing each other in front of a planet.
Mira shrugged "I wasn't told who sent it, but anyways, what was it about?" she asked as she filled up a beer for Wakaba.
"It's a letter telling me not to go near Mount Helion, and it's signed by someone with the initials, T.C." Erza summarized the letter, flipping it over in her hands.
Mira dropped the glass and Wakaba's pipe fell out of his mouth, making the whole guild stop what they were doing and look over at them. "Did you just say, Helion?" Mira asked quietly.
She nodded, making Mira look down at the ground. "Master should hear about this. Helion is a dangerous place, Erza, the master got hurt there once."
Erza's eyes widened. "I wonder what happened to the Master at Helion, and why does it involve this letter?" "What happened to him?" she asked eager to know more.
"Erza, Mira, come to my office immediately." Makarov's voice boomed through the guild, making the walls shake. "I have a problem I need to discuss with you."
AN: this chapter is the shortest one out of all of them, it's mostly all just a prologue. i'm not the best writer, but i hope you'll continue to read this despite my writing abilities. Enjoy!
