"This is Mackenzie," she answered.

"Where are you right now," he asked.

"On the roof terrace, where are you?"

"Out on the balcony. I wish I was there with you."

"Come on over," she said.

"Really?"

She smiled. "Yes, really. It's Friday night and we aren't working tomorrow, come sit outside with me."

"I'll be there soon."

Will called Lonny and let him know he was going to be going to Mac's brownstone. Lonny said he'd be by in a few minutes to pick him up. Will was actually in the lobby waiting on him when he arrived.

"Not anxious, or anything, are you, Will," Lonny teased.

"Let's go," Will said walking to the waiting SUV.

As they approached Mac's brownstone Will called to let her know they were almost there.

Mac came inside and waited out on the stoop for them to arrive.

"Are you spending the night," Lonny asked.

"I don't know," Will said as he got out. Lonny walked him to her door and said good night and asked Will to call him when he was ready.

"You want a beer," she asked.

"Please," he said and followed her into the kitchen. "I love this kitchen, Mac."

She smiled and said, "I know you do. You can cook in here any time you want, okay? I'll have the kitchen stocked, or you can stock it and give me the bill, that might be easier as you'd know what you want or need."

"You don't mind me cooking in here?"

"No, I like having you here with me," she said handing him his beer. "There's a fire going on the terrace, come on," she said leading him upstairs to the rooftop terrace.

She wasn't sure what was going on with him. They had spent more time together recently but this was the first time he'd been over to the brownstone in a long time.

He stood by the fireplace and watched the flames. She was next to him, watching him.

"What's going on, Will?"

He smiled at her. He knew he wouldn't be able to get away with not telling her why he originally called.

"Come sit," she said taking his hand and leading him over to the chairs.

When they sat he kept ahold of her hand. She smiled at him and said, "are you okay?"

He nodded.

"We can sit here and just be quiet together, if you want," she offered.

"I don't know how to do this," he said.

"Do what," she questioned gently.

"I love you, Mac."

"I love you, too, Billy."

"I'm tired of not being with you when you're all I want."

He looked up to see her reaction. He could see he shocked her. "Why now?"

"We're both miserable. We have each other during the day, but I want more and I think you do, too."

"I do want more. I want everything with you. I want to sleep, eat, make love, everything, Billy."

He put his beer on the deck and got out of his chair and knelt in front of her. "Marry me, Mac."

"Billy."

"Mac, I love you and I want forever with you and I want that to be official, we belong to one another."

"Yes," she said and was in his arms.
