Its okay, life is a tough crowd 32 and still growin' up now Who you are is not what you did You're still an innocent
June 5, 2012
Dear Draco,
I remember the days when we absolutely despised each other. Now that I think about it, some of the stuff we fought about back in Hogwarts was petty and unimportant. But over the years, I noticed a change in you, especially sixth year, when you became a Death Eater. I can't imagine how terrified you must've been, trying to carry out a task as big as you were given; it didn't matter to you though just how terrified you were, you were trying to protect your family, and I respect you for that. I've learned to forgive you for all the things you did at Hogwarts because who you really are isn't based on your actions.
I know that life returning to normal after the war must've been hard for you especially since you and your parents were on trial for war crimes. But Harry, even Ron and I made sure that at least you and your mother was cleared of all charges because you were innocent. We know you didn't want to become a Death Eater, you just wanted to protect your parents; as for the whole Pureblood supremacy crap back in Hogwarts, I suppose that was just what you were raised to believe.
Anyways, the whole point of this letter was to tell you that I have forgiven you and I also wanted to wish you a 'Happy Birthday'. I hope you've had time to forget your past mistakes and become a "new" you. But, even if you haven't, you still have enough time. After all, you are only 32.
Happy 32nd Birthday Draco,
Sincerely, Hermione
