There's a feast waiting for you and you've never even gotten a taste
It's later than you think
And a kiss is a terrible thing to waste

Sky stared out into the night. It was so dark, and yet it seemed to beckon to him as if to say you belong. He paused in though, as he realized that hehad grown to like the dark. He felt her presence behind him, yet he didn't take his gaze away from the window that held her reflection. In the darkness she seemed even more beautiful, and he could barely stand it. Here was the girl that he wanted more than anything in the world, and he felt like he could do nothing about it.

She had always been there for him and he had always been afraid to let her in. He bit his lip, what was fear anyway? An obstacle and he had conquered those before. He took a deep breath and placed a hand at the small of her back. Her eyes seemed quizzical as she moved in closer to him but he ignored it and placed his arms around her shoulders. He was through with building walls and holding those he loved at bay.

"What's wrong," she whispered.

A question that he couldn't exactly answer. So many things were wrong. But to pinpoint the exact cause of his mood was impossible. There were the regrets that plagued him and the chances that evaded him, but even those may not be a part of what he was feeling right now.
If only he knew what his problem was. If only, the words seemed so lonely to him. Lonely, even with a beautiful girl in his arms, he felt it. Even as she turned in his arms to engulf him in a hug, he felt it.

"I want so many things." He said vaguely, hoping that she'd understand.

She let her eyes flicker and settle on his lips. "I know how you feel."

Sky raised an eyebrow. He was unsure how to read her reaction. Did she want to kiss him? He knew that he wanted to kiss her. It was a fact he'd been aware of for over two years. What if he did kiss her? Would she reject him? Would he get hurt? He already knew that he loved her, but to lose someone you cared for publicly might be too much for him. What if he didn't kiss her? Would he regret never knowing how it might turn out?

She reached up and traced the line of his jaw with the back of her finger. The jolt of her touch shook him to the core. He knew that she was his, he had always known. Yet, still the fear welled up inside of him. What if he opened his heart completely and he suddenly lost her. He sighed, maybe it would be better to keep her as a friend. Just add her to the list of his regrets, missed chances and shattered dreams. Here now, trembling at her touch he knew that he could never do that. She belonged with him. Throwing all caution to the night, he seized her lips with his.
