PROLOGUE
The rain poured down outside, the raindrops pounding on the roof, threatening to trickle in through the thickly woven brambles. Poppyfrost watched Molekit and Cherrykit prance around the den in circles, trying to catch each others tails in their paws. Daisy sat in a corner of the den, grooming her flank. Molekit made a massive leap and landed on Cherrykit's tail.
"I win! I win!" he squeaked. Cherrykit smacked him with her tail and bounced up to Daisy. He hissed at hr, then followed her.
"Daisy, tell us stories," mewed Cherrykit. "We're so bored." Daisy purred.
"Well, I don't think the rain is going to stop any time soon, is it?" she asked Poppyfrost. She shook her head, yawning.
"I think I'm going to take a nap. Can you handle them?" Daisy nodded.
"I hope." Poppyfrost nodded gratefully and lay down her head, closing her eyes. Daisy gazed at the two kits, waiting expectantly for her to begin her story. She got up, stretched, and lay back down again, letting the kits rest at her warm belly. She wrapped her tail around the two kits.
"Well," she meowed. "I know so many. I just don't know which one to tell you first. I've told you many times of the badger attack, and of my journey here. There are many, however, that you haven't heard. I think I'll start with this one."
