Family Ties

Summary: Takes place after the season 5 finale. Mostly Luke/Lorelai centered. You'll figure it out.

"Lorelai." Luke shouts up the stairs.

"Lorelai, what are you doing?" He shouts again.

"Okay. I'm ready! Don't I look fabulous...?" She says wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

"Of course..." Luke said, dripping with sarcasm.

She pulled him in her arms for kiss and then said, "What are we waiting for? We were suppose to leave ten minutes ago." She grinned, and Luke shot her look. "Come on crazy lady."

They walk out the door.

(In the Luke's Truck)

"Luke..."

"Yes?"

"I thought we were going to Sniffy's Tavern."

"We are."

"Then why are we going toward Sookie's house?"

"We're making a stop somewhere first."

"Where?"

"You'll see."

Luke pulled over to the side of the road and got of the truck. He went around and opened the door for Lorelai. She smiled, getting out of the truck. Luke took her hand and they walked together up to the front door of the Twickham house.

(Inside the Twickham House)

"It looks so different without anything in it."

"Yeah."

"Thank you for bringing me here. I want to live here and start a family with you. I'm sorry if you thought I didn't before...I just..." She said trailing off.

"I know." He said pulling her in for a warm embrace.

"I love this house." She said trying to change the subject.

"I'm glad." He paused. "Did you know that there are four bedrooms in this house?"

"No, I didn't." She said smiling.

"I figured you could turn one of them into a sewing room or something...If you wanted."

"Thanks that would be great." She said giving him a sad smile.

"Hey, I know you miss her but everything will turn out okay." he said reassuringly.

"You're right I just wish that Rory could be here. I want to tell her everything that's going on. I want her to be able to help me plan my wedding and help decide where to put the furniture in our new house..." She said looking up at him with a shy grin.

"Really? You want to live here?" He asked.

"Yes. It will be the perfect place for us to start our lives together married." She said grinning. Luke gave her a big kiss and said, "You should try to talk to Rory, at least tell her the news. You'll regret it later if you don't tell her and she hears about it from someone else."

"You're right. I'll tell her." She told him.
