alas the long awaited next fic.
I will remain beside you for as long as I am able.
I will take care of you for as long as I can
I will protect you with my heart, just as you would protect mine.
I will tell you I love you, and will be yours… if you will have me.
As she read the note once more, a sense of nervousness settled into her stomach. Of all of her friends, she always knew she would fall in love with him. On the same turn, he loved her. Both were afraid to express their feelings.
Haruhi read the note once more. She carefully folded it into thirds, and tapping it to her lips, she readied an envelope. A small smile emerged from the corners of her lips. She reopened the folded paper and signed her name.
Haruhi addressed the front of the envelope and waited for her nervousness to pass. She secured her backpack and began her weekly trek toward work.
She stopped in front of her mailbox. She opened it to see amongst bills and junk mail letters. Another smile emerged from the corners of her lips.
The differing flourish told her whom the letters were from. The elegant script was from Tamaki. Rigid and quick script indicated Kyoya. The block lettering that looked like two different writing styles melded into one was from the twins. Formal lettering and precision spacing was Mori-senpai. Finally the little envelope with bunny shaped seals belonged to Hani-senpai.
She smiled at the letters. Each of them held small surprises. Tamaki occasionally sent her plane tickets with her letters. Kyoya's missive listed job offering with in the Ootori group of businesses as well as invitations to formal functions. The twins would include clippings of stunts that proved unsuccessful, invitations to fashion show, or on occasion they would send packages filled with clothing. Hani would inform her of the progress of the former hosts. It was though Hani she kept track of all of the hosts.
But the real smile came from the letter from Mori. Letters from him were always formal in design, as well as word choice. He would send her letters that informed her of the personal lives of each of the hosts. The level of communication was not hindered by distance. There were times she would send a letter about some small concern, and there would be a reply before she sent her letter.
There was one occasion she wondered about adding safety features to her apartment. A letter came that told her of cost effective alternatives. Kyoya showed up later that day and had an expensive system installed, he used the excuse his tenet's safety was paramount and the installation would result in a small rent increase.
Haruhi stopped mooning as she deposited her letter in the mail.
