Lucy stood at the edge of her bed, tears silently falling down her face. Her window was open, the curtains barely billowing in the slight breeze. Her heart felt shattered. She slowly sunk down onto the floor, her knees rubbing against the cold wood. She looked up at the celling, willing herself not to cry.
"Lucy?" A broken voice asked behind her. She turned to see the dark eyes of her best friend and the person she loved. Tears streamed down his face, gathering in his patterned scarf.
"Natsu." She sighed, standing. She willed her sadness deep within her. Natsu came first. He would always be first to her. She walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his shaking figure. He clutched at her arms, finally going to pieces. They sunk down onto the floor. Lucy leaned up against the table leg, pulling Natsu into her chest, keeping him close. His harsh sobs were the only thing to be heard. She ran her fingers through his messy pink hair. She kissed his shoulder. She kissed his temple. She looked up as she heard a small bump on her bed. Happy stood there, looking at his paws with tears in his eyes as well.
"I just can't believe he's gone." Natsu finally choked out.
"I know." Lucy whispered, tears once again forming in her eyes. Natsu looked up at her, his chest swelling as he watched the girl he couldn't be without break apart. He reached out to her, gathering her into him. They clutched each other, keeping each other from falling apart for real.
