She didn't know when it had happened. After all, he was still one of the crudest and most brutal persons she had ever seen. But he had wormed himself into her heart somehow, and there was nothing she could or would do to change it.
Smiling, she turned over and looked at the man lying next to her on the grass.
He was huge compared to her. He could crush her with one hand if he wished to do so. But when he touched her, his large hand was as careful as if she were a small bird.
