Dear, Alphonse

I just arrived at this small town called Rizenbool. It's in America, on the country side. It's a town is quiet here and it seems like your brother, Edward, is having a good time here. It seems he likes it. Were slowly getting on our feet, we found a good place to live. It by a river and there's a lot of land here to farm. It may not give us a lot of income in the start but probably later on it will. It will give Ed some work to do in the mean time.

So how are things in Germany? I don't really know if you like those coalfields your working in. Are you sill working in them? All I know is that your Brother didn't. He thought that he would have a better opportunity to work here in the US. So I think he's content now. I didn't mind what I was doing there in Germany, but I think it's better here. There's more fresh air and I get to do more things rather then house work. Even though I still have to do it.

We both miss you Al, if we get enough money again, we may come for a visit. Please don't hold us to that though. We also miss our other friends there too, like Rose, Jess, and Nelly. Tell them we both said hi. Ok. I think the hardest thing would be for Ed though over here. Well, since he can't visit your mothers grave anymore. I think that would be the toughest thing for him to get over. I still think that he's not over it yet. But then again, you can never tell with him.

How was our journey, you may be asking. Well, it was pretty good as far as a crowded ship may go. We mostly stayed in our room during the day. We only left when we were hungry. But we did go out other times, like during the night. The scenery looked beautiful, just watching the stars. Sometimes we would watch the sunrise at the port side of the ship. We didn't watch many of the sunsets though. It was still too crowded for that but I think we seen about two of them and they were ecstatic to watch.

Well I better go, Al. Your Brother may want some help outside. So I'll tell you more about our journey in another letter later on. Oh, and I do expect to get a reply too. I do hope you be careful in those fields too. You never know what may happen. We both love you, remember that. Good Luck!
