Harry Potter and The Unraveling of Secrets Chapter 1
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters; J. K. Rowling is the owner. I might own the name of some characters mostly names that's do not appear in the book or movie basically unknown names.
I welcome critisms with pleasure. Just try not to be too violent and aggressive. This is one of my first few fanfictions.
Chapter 1: The Rescue
An exhausted-looking man was pacing an office which looked clean and spotless. There was a polished wooden desk which contained a quill, an inkwell, some parchment, several instruments and a huge bowl-like tool. Inside it, a silvery substance was swirling; it seemed to be neither liquid nor gas. The man stopped pacing for a moment and brushed away a lock of silvery hair away from his face. Just then, he heard someone saying, "Lemon Drops", which was the password to gain access to his office. "Enter", he called, exhausted. A woman with jet black hair entered and said, "Albus, you look so exhausted. You should rest. We can speak in the morning". The man, Albus Dumbledore shrugged his head and said, "I would rather we speak now since you are here already", and motioned Minerva McGonagall to sit down. "So, Albus, it is going to be July 31 soon. It would be our son's birthday in about a week now. Don't you think it's best if we brought him back under our custody instead of the muggles' custody of our son? I did express my concern when you chose who to give custody of our son to…"Minerva trailed off and stared questioningly at Albus. Albus sighed deeply and replied, "Yes, Minerva. I am regretting not taking your advice into consideration. I have got weekly reports from Arabella and I am afraid they are not good news…" At this, Minerva snorted and glared at him in an "I-told-you-not-to-trust-those-muggles" look. "I know… I should have listened to you all along… I was really foolish…. But what I have heard from Arabella is very disturbing. The Dursleys feed Harry just enough so that he is alive and he is given a list of impossible -to -do chores and is abused", Albus said sadly. At this, Minerva's face turned scarlet and she yelled, "Albus Percivial Wulfric Brian Dumbledore! You have hidden such an important thing from me! Harry Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore will not live with those muggles anymore!" and stormed off from his office. Albus meanwhile held his face in his hands, inadwertedly cursing his stupidity of not telling Minerva these details earlier on. Minerva, on the other hand, felt really desperate and wanted to apparate to number four, Privet Drive and rescue Harry but she knew better. Whatever she wanted to do will have to wait until the next morning.
