Breaking the News
Ginny Weasley was filled with grief. Her brother, Fred, was dead, and it had broken her. Entering the Great Hall, Ginny caught sight of Ron and Hermione looking distressed.
She rushed over. "What's wrong?"
Ron and Hermione explained. "After Voldemort said for Harry to meet him in the Forbidden Forest, he went up to Dumbledore's office, because Snape gave him a memory. That was twenty minutes ago!" Ginny's breath caught in her throat. "Where is he?"
Hermione started to hyperventilate, and Ron's eyes were wide. Just then, Neville came up. "Hey, Ron, Hermione, I just saw Harry-" Hermione's eyes widened, "-and he wants me to tell you to kill the snake."
"Where was he?" Ron demanded. Neville shrugged. "He was heading outside, and had his Invisibility Cloak with him."
Hermione gave a choked sob. "He was heading outside?"
Neville's eyes widened. "You don't think-"
Ginny shook her head rapidly. "No, no he wouldn't. He wouldn't just give himself up. If that's where he's going, there must be a reason."
Ron rolled his eyes, despite the situation. "Of course there's a reason! He's being a noble git! You heard You-Know-Who! 'You have permitted your friends to die for you rather then face me yourself.' He's upset, and broken, and will do anything to stop these death's!"
Then, there was a scream. "NO!" It was Professor McGonagall, and she was running outside through the entrance hall. Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville ran in that direction.
In the entrance hall, they saw Voldemort. He was smiling, as everyone trickled outside.
"Guys," Ron stated suddenly, "Guys, what's that Hagrid's holding?"
Then we focused on it. It was Harry. And he was dead.
"No!" Hermione screamed. Ron mimed her. "Harry!" Ginny shouted, "HARRY!"
Ginny's world was over. What was going to happen now? Harry was gone... Right?
