Gabriel Agreste was working on a new plan to get the miraculouses after having failed his last big plan: Catalyst. Mulling over his options, he had a sudden revelation. "Nathalie, I need you in here immediately." "Yes sir," Nathalie replied, a bit hesitant as to what he might want. As she entered the room, she saw Gabriel smiling. He was smiling even more than he usually did when he had a new plan he was sure would work.
"Nathalie, I've figured it out. I don't need another super villain. I need another super hero!" Nathalie was confused by this statement. Why would he need another enemy to fight? "I'm not following sir," she replied, "wouldn't that make it harder to get the miraculouses?"
Gabriel said, "Just follow along for a second, Nathalie. As Hawkmoth, I can make super villains or super heroes. Either way, they are loyal to me." Nathalie nodded for him to continue though she still wasn't sure. "I can also give them any power, even the power to increase my own powers as we did before." Again, Nathalie nodded, but still was not quite sure what he was planning. "I could make a super hero whose power is to heal damaged miraculouses and people affected by them."
Nathalie's eyes grew wide with understanding. "Yes, yes. I could make a super hero to bring Emilie back without needing the Ladybug and Cat Noir Miraculouses," Gabriel mused excitedly. Gabriel stood there waiting for Nathalie to respond. "I see sir. So, we could have done this from the very beginning instead of trying to lure Cat Noir and Ladybug out of hiding."
Gabriel's face stiffened slightly at being called out for not thinking of this plan sooner, but returned to the smile he had before. "Yes, Nathalie. If either of us had considered that possibility before, we could have prevented some of the troubles we've caused. Will you help me?"
Nathalie thought for a minute. If this worked, Emilie would be back and she would never be able to have a relationship with Gabriel. If this didn't work, there's the eventuality that either Hawkmoth would win or lose against Ladybug and Cat Noir, but she might be able to have that relationship with Gabriel she dreamed about.
While Nathalie was contemplating, Adrien stuck his head in the door. "Bye father. Bye Nathalie. I'm off to fencing class." "Goodbye son," Gabriel responded before Adrien popped back out of the room.
Nathalie took a deep breath. Adrien needed his mother. If this plan had even a chance of working, she had to try for Adrien's sake. "Yes sir, I will help you." Gabriel grinned even wider (if that was even possible).
Gabriel and Nathalie went into Hawkmoth's lair. "Nooroo, I have a new plan," Gabriel lilted out. "Yes master, how I may be of service," the little kwami asked, shivering at the thought that this might be even more atrocious than previous plans. "I need to make a super hero." "Yes master, you know the words to say."
"Nooroo, wings rise!" With that, Gabriel Agreste transformed into the hero version of Hawkmoth. Not much was different in his suit and white butterflies still flew nearby. Hawkmoth captured one of the white butterflies in his hand and held his other hand over it as usual. Instead of becoming a black butterfly, it turned into a golden butterfly.
Hawkmoth turned to Nathalie and asked, "Are you sure you're ready to help with this?" Nathalie nodded, "We need to end this today." With that, Hawkmoth guided the golden butterfly onto Nathalie's glasses. Nathalie was enveloped with a golden glow and transformed. "Miraculous Healer," Hawkmoth started, "I have given you the power to heal a damaged miraculous and any people hurt by using it." Miraculous Healer nodded.
They headed back to the wall safe and retrieved the Peacock Miraculous. Miraculous Healer held it in her hand and placed the other hand on top of it. A golden glow emanated from between her hands. Duusu immerged from the miraculous and yawned. "I'm feeling much better now. Was something the matter with me?" "Yes," Hawkmoth replied, "but you've been healed by our new hero." "Thank you so much!" Duusu exclaimed. "Okay Duusu, we're going to let you go back into your miraculous and get some more rest." Hawkmoth said with a genuine grin of relief that the first part of his plan had worked.
Hawkmoth and Miraculous Healer then headed to Emilie's casket. Hawkmoth opened the casket and sighed hopefully. Miraculous Healer placed a hand on Emilie's chest and a golden glow encompassed Emilie. "What, what happened? I feel like I've been asleep for a decade," Emilie managed to say. She looked at Hawkmoth and said, "Gabriel, is that you?" "Yes my love," Hawkmoth replied," we've finally woken you up. Duusu had been damaged and it caused you to go into a sleep like state. Our new hero here was able to fix Duusu's miraculous and wake you up."
Hawkmoth held his stick up and Miraculous Healer detransmored into Nathalie with a golden butterfly flying away. Hawkmoth dropped his transformation also. "Gabriel, Nathalie, it really was you!" Emilie said with a smile. "Thank you so much."
Gabriel's heart felt like it was going to leap out of his chest. He pulled Emilie into an embrace and kissed her like he had never kissed her before. Nathalie blushed a bit and then walked away to give them some privacy.
Gabriel and Emilie joined Nathalie upstairs. Gabriel wanted to be sure everyone was on the same page for the explanation as to why she had suddenly returned and for her absence. Emilie stated, "I could say that I was hit by a car and got amnesia. The doctor's found a blood clot and removed it, causing me to remember everything except the period where I had amnesia." Gabriel and Nathalie nodded. That sounded as good as anything either of them could come up with.
Emilie sat in the dining room with Gabriel. When Adrien arrived home from fencing, Nathalie met him at the door. "Please join your father in the dining room. He has some important news for you." "Thanks Nathalie," Adrien said hesitantly. This was likely going to be bad news about him sneaking out. Adrien prepared himself as he opened the door.
Adrien walked into the dining room without lifting his head, expecting his father to begin scolding him. "Son, there's someone here to see you." Adrien was puzzled for second as he was not expecting anyone. As soon as he looked up, he saw his mother making her way towards him. "Mother!" Adrien yelled. He ran to her as fast as she ran to him. Falling into her embraced, he simply said, "I'm glad you're back. I've missed you so much."
Nathalie closed the dining room door. Her heart was filled with both joy and pain. But she knew, she had done the right thing.
After the much needed, and rather lengthy, embrace, Adrien sat down at the table with his mother and father. They fed him the story about amnesia and he bought every word of it. After dinner, Adrien retired to his room. He was so happy, he almost forgot about patrol that night with Ladybug.
Ladybug paced back and forth on the roof of Notre Dame. Cat Noir landed and she asked, "What took you, kitty? I was about to leave on patrol by myself." Cat Noir just smiled. "I had something wonderful happen in my family life tonight. Unfortunately, it's filled with the type of details we don't tell each other as it could risk our identities." "I'm happy for you Chaton," Ladybug replied. She loved seeing the change in her partner. He no longer had that far off look in his eyes as if he was constantly looking for a familiar face in a crowd. Instead, he was jovial. Patrol went fast and Cat Noir couldn't wait to get home instead of trying to keep Ladybug out as late as possible. It must've been really good news, Ladybug thought to herself as Cat Noir hopped away.
Everyone in class was surprised by the news that Adrien's mom had returned. Everyone was ecstatic for Adrien. Marinette remember how Cat Noir had had a good experience at home the night before also, but as usual, didn't make the connection. She was just happy that both her partner and her crush now seemed to have a weight lifted off their shoulders.
Ladybug and Cat Noir were both perplexed that, for some strange reason, there were no more akuma attacks in Paris. Alya on the other hand, nearly had a nervous breakdown from not being able to update the Ladyblog.
