Help Me Out

"I am so over this."

"Dude, I just need your help for this one thing."

"It's not my fault you forgot your friendiversary or whatever you call it."

Django looked both ways before leaning in. "Look, wake up for a second and brainstorm some ideas for me."

Irving did not lift his head from the lunch table. "And you can't ask them…why?"

"Because they're sick with the flu. Or did you not know that?"

"I did; it was a rhetorical question." Irving's eyes peaked through his arms. "Although I don't know how I can be of service."

"Maybe we can do an even exchange of solutions."

Now his attention was piqued. "Oh?"

Django shook his head out of frustration. "Look, I just need something for…tonight. That's all. Something simple and uncomplicated. I don't need Phineas and Ferb to figure that out." He put his hand on Irving's shoulder. "But I can't do this on my own, Irv. Help me out."

"Help you out?"

"Yes, as if you didn't hear me the first two times."

"Just help me calm down."

Katie cast an amused glance in her best friend's direction. "You're always the calm one. This is so fun to watch."

"Very funny, Katie."

"Katie!"

"Oh, hey Irving. What's got you so out of breath?"

"Had to catch up to you."

The blonde raised an eyebrow at him. "Now I'm intrigued. What's up?"

"It's Django. He needs my help. I didn't want to bother you, but..."

"That's OK." Katie smiled. "I was going to ask you about the same thing."

"Oh no. Not Milly, too?"

"Yup, she's got it bad too." Katie brought a finger to her chin. "Hmm, something simple, right? Wraps up all of these loose ends, right?"

The two of them fell silent, thinking. And then...it came to them both.

"I know!"

"Irving, why are we in the front of the school?"

"Trust me, Django. You're going to thank me one of these days."

"What's that suppose to mean?"

No response was given, just a quick shove in the back.

"Hey!" Django lurched forward, only to run into someone else being pushed behind them.

"I'm going to have to agree with him, Milly."

"Katie, are you nuts?"

"Never been diagnosed. Here."

Milly suddenly had a small gift-wrapped package in her hand. She turned to face Django who, to his shock, had an identical box in his hand.

"Wha...?"

"Well, I think we're done here." Irving wiped his hands mockingly, then offered his arm to Katie. "Shall we go then?"

She giggled as he took his arm. "Absolutely."

"OY!"

The two turned at the simultaneous outburst from their friends. Milly stepped forward to yell at them some more. "And just what do you two think you're doing?"

Irving and Katie looked at each other, smiling.

"Helping you out."

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Yeah, this one's been sitting in the "In Progress" folder for a while. It was originally suppose to be a Valentine's Day fic. And then...yeah.

This series is where I will be putting my "faux songfics" going forward. I'll probably go into more detail about that a little bit later, but just wanted to give a heads up.

I sort of like the minimalism sort of writing where I just kind of let the speech do the talking. Ironic, I know.

As I said in the TT story that I will also be posting, I'm attempting to clear out some of my backlog. I have some other P&F stuff, Teen Titans, as well as some MYSTERY STUFF happening.

Read and review, if you like. Until next time.
