After finally finishing the manga and anime, and thinking about the characters and what not. I've decided to start putting my imagination into words.

I wanted to convey more of an Ume, Mei relationship as well as introduce more of Yuzus thoughts on her father. And kinda how I pictured her father to be. Definitely not cannon, but that's why it's fanfiction. :D

Yuzu woke up at the break of dawn, which was unusual for her, especially on a weekend. However, today wasn't like any other normal day for her. Today was the anniversary of her father's death. Slowly she got out of bed careful not to wake workaholic sister, taking slow and careful movements as she got ready to leave. Her train would be leaving soon, and she wanted to prepare to have a day with her dad. Her mother had paid her respects that day before, as she would be on a business trip in another town. After slipping on her clothes Yuzu went to the kitchen and prepared some breakfast for Mei that she could wake up to, as well as a note saying she would be back home late tonight. Before she walked out the door Yuzu peeked back into the room and watched her girlfriend toss and turn underneath the covers. She had wanted to spend the day with the lavender eyed girl, but today was the exception, and would probably be the only exception forever. Slowly Yuzu walked over and quietly peck the younger sister's cheek "Sorry, I love you." She whispered and quietly rushed out the door.

"Mm… Yuzu..." Mei muttered in her sleep.

The train ride had been long. I should've brought Mei with me like last time… The blond had thought and she stretched getting off the train. But this… This is mine. She continued selfishly to herself. She remembered the last time she brought me "It's not a gloomy topic" she remembered telling the younger sister. And really wasn't, however she often wondered…

Would papa be proud me? Be proud of the person I've become. Even though I'm ditsy?

Breaking school rules all the time?

Dyeing my hair?

Wearing too much make up?

Being such a cry baby?

Annoying her perfect little sister?

Falling in love with her little sister?

Yuzu's stomach churned at the last thought. Would he think that I'm a disgusting person? She bit her bottom lip as she made her way through her hometown, as to stop her from crying. I guess in a sense I would've never met Mei if papa hadn't passed away. The blond cursed herself for thinking that way, even though she would never admit to it, that she would always chose her life now with Mei, other than the life of what could have been with her father.

She walked into one of her favorite lunch shops as a kid. She distinctly remembered her father taking her multiple times a child. She would always get some sort of chocolate croissant, while her father always got his favorite rice cakes. She ordered a small container with two rice cake. One for herself and one for her father. She decided to sit in the little café for a while, the walk to the cemetery was long, and she needed to make sure she wouldn't pass out from hunger on her way. Thus, she ordered a large chocolate croissant and coffee and sat at the window reminiscing on her childhood and little memories with her father.

Her father a police officer and died in the line of duty as she remembered. It took her years to finally be able to read the article they had written about her father and his heroic deeds. What had started out as a simple call of disorderly conduct and being drunk in public turned deadly when the drunk man pulled a gun on himself. Being the good-hearted man that Yuzu's father was, he didn't bring out his own gun, and instead tried to talk the man down. It had worked, until in the man's drunken stupor accidentally pulled the trigger on Yuzu's father as he was confiscating the gun. The bullet had punctured his lung badly, and Yuzu's father laid bleeding out. Despite the efforts of the people around him and the EMT's he had lost too much blood, and died.

Tears rolled down her cheeks and off her chin. The sweet chocolate croissant had begun to taste bitter. Even now 15 years later, Yuzu couldn't bring herself to forgive the drunk man, or forgive the world in that matter. However, she made it a point to believe in the kindness of others, and to always see the good in people and in the world, much like her father had. Yuzu wiped her tears away and smiled at the thought of kind of man her father was. She left the café minutes later to buy flowers and began her long stroll to the cemetery.

Mei ate her breakfast by herself, she was a little disappointed to not have the blond around to keep her company. But decided this would be the ideal time to finish homework and student council work without any distractions. The blond had left significantly early, which was unusual, thus in Mei's mind It must have been something rather important…. Yes that's what Mei thought. After washing the dishes and settling herself on the dinning room table, Mei sprawled out her work in front her and began her duties. However, the silence seemed kind of loud, and Mei's thoughts began to wonder.

Where could that girl gone? What was so important that she couldn't tell me, or even at least tell her she was going to be…? Like all people with beautiful and lively girlfriends a sense of insecurity washed over Mei. She's probably with that 'partner in crime' of her Harumin. Or even that sneaky middle school 'sister' of hers…

Mei's eyebrows furrowed and she thought about others that her girlfriend could be with. I guess she's been acting a little strange lately…

Mei was right on that part, turned out before today, Yuzu had been saving quite a bit of money. At first Mei rationalized that it was for some sort of crazy date. Or that hopefully the blond would learn to be more responsible with her money, but it seems that was not the case. Maybe mother knows…

The dark-haired girl picked up her phone and dialed her step mothers' number, hoping not to bother that busy woman.

"Hello?" A familiar voice on the other side questioned

"Mother? It's Mei" Mei started. It was a strange feeling to be calling someone "mother" as she did not grow up with one. And despite her good relationship with her step-mother it was still uncharted territory.

"Oh, hello Mei! I wasn't expecting a call from my daughters. Do you need something?" Her step mothers voice sang. Mei smiled sheepishly, she secretly enjoyed having a mother in her life again, she was easier to get along with other than her father.

"No mother. I'm fine. Yuzu wasn't here this morning, so I was wondering if you knew where she might be?"

Ume sighed. "She didn't tell you" Mei bit her bottom lip feeling worried that something happened to pul the blond away from her forever.

"No…" Mei held her breath

"Well, I guess I understand why she would keep it from you." Ume said with a sad tone. "Today is the anniversary of her father's death. She's probably going to spend the day with him."

Thoughts rushed through her head. She was slightly hurt that Yuzu left without her, especially since she's been with Yuzu to her father's grave before. The blond at the time didn't seem to bother by her father's death, but it would seem that there might be more to the story…

"Mei…? Mei." Ume rang on the other end Pulling Mei out of her world

"Y- Yes mother?"

"I would be a little careful around Yuzu today." Ume continued. "Even though my husband died when she was just 3, he meant the world to Yuzu, and she remembers him completely. I think there's still a lot of emotion that Yuzu can't quite figure out yet about it. Which is another reason I think she's so persistent to help your relationship with your father."

Mei sighed. Ume was probably right. Mei had once asked the blond to help her relationship with her father, and she did. Although it was rocky at first, Mei now accepted why he did what he did, and why he tried to help her all those years ago when she was too young to understand. But now with a little help from a certain blond, Mei finally felt like she was living her life for herself. Which was something her father expressed deep pride in for his dutiful daughter.

"Yes mother, thank you for the advice."

Ume smiled on her end of the line. "Alright you have a good day Mei, tell Yuzu I miss her, and that if she has any questions to just wait till I get back home." Ume said that last part as if she knew a serious conversation was about to come up later between her and Yuzu. "Good by Mei."

"Bye." Mei hung up the phone and breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn't exactly worried, Yuzu had once told her it wasn't a gloomy subject about her fathers' death. In fact, aside from that time, the blond seldomly mentioned her father.

I should probably do something for her since she's gonna be home so late. Mei concluded. Maybe I'll order her some food and see if I can get a movie good later…. That was her typical go-to when it came to pleasing the blond and no matter how many times she did it the blond was never tired of it. Mei sighed at how bad she was love. After all, until the blond, Mei's only notion of love was manipulation.

Suitors manipulating her feelings to better their own career. At that point in life, Mei's idea of love was so twisted and convoluted that she thought that was the correct why of things, thus began her manipulation and mistreatment of Yuzu. Mei tapped her pen on the table, she constantly berated herself for all the horrible things she's done, even though Yuzu would always forgive her, she could never forgive herself. Mei looked at the papers again determined to finished so that she could prepare for Yuzu. She gave her mother's advice to be careful around Yuzu into consideration, but that was such a vague statement to Mei.

She'll be fine, I'm sure of it…

Yuzu laid flowers out in front of her fathers grave and knelt down to pray. She spent some time cleaning the dust and dirt off of the granite making sure her family name would never be covered and etched out. Once she was done praying she sat crossed legged in front of the grave and put the box of rice cakes in between them.

Yuzu sighed. "H-hi papa…" She began already feeling the tears. "It's been a while I guess. I brought your favorite." She pulled out a rice cake for herself and pushed the box closer to the grave. Every year she did this, in earlier years when she lived much closer she would visit the next day to find the box was gone. She would hope that maybe her father's spirit would be a thing, but despite her bubbly personality, Yuzu wasn't superstitious and knew it was probably the grave keepers cleaning up.

"Alright where do I begin papa?" Yuzu took a bite of the sweet rice cake and continued on determined. "Well last time I came here I was crying because Mei had left because she was being married off to some other suitor. B-but now she's back! And…" Yuzu blushed and felt a little ashamed. "And I asked her to marry me…"

Yuzu wished she would have heard something to reply to her. A congratulations? Her fathers loud laugh? Even if it was harsh words… Yuzu just wanted to hear her father's voice again.

"Papa… I just wanted to let you know that I love this girl, and even though she's smarter, and younger, and taller than me. I think she's perfect…. I- I wonder if this is how you felt when you met Mama?" Yuzu perked up, she actually didn't know how he parents had met. A question she would save she her mother later.

"I bet it was perfect! I saw pictures of you in high school, and you looked so handsome! And you were on the football team too! I bet girls were chasing after you all the time huh papa?" Yuzu giggled at the thought of her father being such a ladies man. From what she gathered about her mother, Ume seemed to be the more studious one in high school. Even as a child before the death of her father, Ume was the stricter parent.

"It was probably a much better introduction compared to Mei and I" Yuzu blushed at the memory of being felt up by the younger sibling. ON HER FIRST DAY.

"Papa…?" Yuzu began again. "I miss you so much." She sobbed. "All these men that tried to claim mama! Some of them were nice, but they weren't you… E-even now… Even though I love my step father… I just wish I could have you again."

Memories of her father rushed back to Yuzu. He was such a strong tall guy with bright green eyes like hers. He was always laughing and smiling, and being horribly awkward. A trait that Yuzu had inherited. He was charismatic, and the brightest guy in the room, with the strongest resolve and moral code. Yuzu wanted to be like him so much.

"WHY!? WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO!?" Yuzu yelled. "Why couldn't you have come home? Like you were supposed to. You didn't have to answer that call, you didn't have to stay an extra hour on shift." Yuzu gripped the ground. "B-but… I guess it wouldn't have been you to ignore someone in need…" Yuzu relaxed her grip and controlled her breathing.

She sat quietly in front of the stone. Still hoping to hear something. To sense something, like how they do in the movies, or in books when someone visit the grave of a loved one. But there was nothing. Just silence.

Mei tapped on the table. It had been a long, grueling day finishing paperwork, especially without the Yuzu's presence in the empty house. The sun was starting to set. She should be on her way home soon… A click in the door pulled Mei's attention and she rushed to the door, to her disappointment it was her step mother stepping in.

"Oh good evening Mei" Ume cheerfully greeted as she put her shoes on a rack. "Is Yuzu home yet?"

"No, she should be back soon." Mei frowned, she felt a sense of being let down.

Ume laughed. "Sorry I don't have the same effect as Yuzu, but you don't have to look so disappointed in my presence."

Mei jumped at the statement "I was just worried. She hasn't been home all day, and I wasn't expecting you to be home from your trip already."

Ume sighed "You're right, I'm only coming back tonight though. I think Yuzu is going to want to have a conversation with me tonight. She's not a little girl anymore, and I think she's matured enough to understand somethings about her father."

Mei nodded, starting to feel a little more concerned about this than before.

"Well, no use in sitting around, let's get some dinner going." Ume said with a smiled "You mind helping me?"

Mei gave a small smile, but that smile soon went away as she stood in the kitchen clueless about how to cook. Despite how the blond ogled at her for being good at things, this was one thing Mei would probably never be good at. Ume laughed. "I guess I found something to strike ear into you Mei." Ume started pulling out some foods, and kitchen utensils. "Care to learn?" The older women asked.

The raven-haired girl blushed at her short coming to something so small, but was determined to at least have some sort of skill. The two began to start cooking. Mei had to be taught everything, from how to cut vegetables without hurting herself, to knowing when something was finished cooking. The type of focus and physical activity needed wasn't like the focus she needed for school work, plus when doing her work, the most activity needed was to move a pencil. Mei was having a hard time keeping up with her step mother, and this was something that Yuzu could do with ease. I guess I should be a little more grateful for Yuzu. Mei thought to herself.

"Mother?" Mei asked while looking at the kitchen utensils.

"Yes Mei?"

"What was Yuzu's father like?" Mei concluded that maybe if she had an idea how Yuzu's father was then maybe she would talk to Yuzu about him later.

Ume sighed. "He was…" Ume put down a piece of pork on the kitchen counter. "He was like the sun. For lack of a better word. It probably sounds cliché, but that man was the most joyous, charismatic, honest, trouble making man I've ever known. Despite his 'macho' demeanor, that man would never hurt a fly, and always had a big smile on his face, even through the hard times."

Mei stared at her mother hoping for more. Then Ume laughed "I guess you could say he and Yuzu are actually very similar."

"How did he die?" Mei asked hoping that she wasn't prying too much. Ume began the long story of that fateful night, and when she got the call that her husband has fallen in the line of duty. She even recounted when the news was broken to Yuzu.

Mei could feel her heartbreak. She's seen Yuzu at extremely low points in life, and had a strong desire to make sure her lover would never feel that way again. But hearing about the pain that Yuzu went through at such a young age, Mei wanted nothing more than to go back in time and some how soothe the younger Yuzu's heart.

"Yuzu… Loved her father deeply. And despite her age at the time, she can recall hundreds of memories with him. A lot of things changed after he died. To be honest before my husband's death I was the strict one, and probably much closer to you in personality."

Mei cringed that this amazing mother was at one point like Mei. Internally it gave Mei hope that maybe she would become an amazing fun-loving mother too.

"Even though Yuzu is 18 now, and has great people that surround her, there will always be a place for her missing father. I think she always is looking for some sort of assurance that he's proud of her. But that man could never be disappointed in his daughter"

Mei looked down. "I hope that maybe I can help her…"

"You've done more than you already know dear." Ume kissed her daughter's forehead. "Now, let make something for Yuzu for when she gets back."

After about an hour or so the meal was done. Before Mei was three bowls of hot ramen, that almost looked like it came right out of a restaurant. Mei couldn't believe that this was something they made, and how satisfying it was compared to finishing that stack of papers. Almost on que, Yuzu walked in smelling the aroma of hot ramen. She was so tired and not in the mood to be eating with her lover, but food.

"Welcome home Yuzu." Ume said

"Huh? Mama?" Yuzu tossed her shoes to the side "You're home?" Yuzu peeked around the corner and walked into the kitchen

"Just for tonight. Then back to business tomorrow morning." Ume put the bowls on the table.

Yuzu frowned hoping to spend sometime with her mother on the anniversary of her father's death

"You're late…" Mei interjected feeling a little left out of the conversation.

"Sorry" Yuzu blushed and laughed a little too forcefully. Mei gave a blank expression knowing something was off. Yuzu sat down at the table and they all started eating. It was a relatively quiet dinner, even as Yuzu ate there was a sense of dread radiating from the blond. Mei had a feeling that it would be a long night.

After dinner Ume went go her room to relax waiting for her inevitable conversation with her daughter. Yuzu went straight into the bathroom, not saying anything to Mei. The younger sibling waited patiently for her lover, feeling almost like their roles had been switched. The blond strode in with a towel draped around her shoulders.

Mei blushed at Yuzu's beauty, no matter how long they've been together she would never get tired of the blond. "How was your trip?" Mei managed to ask. "You went to see your father, right?"

Yuzu froze for a second surprised by her younger siblings' words. She was usually the one to initiate a conversation.

"Yeah. It was alright, sorry I didn't tell you where I was going, but I really needed to go." Yuzu tossed the towel into a hamper and sat at her desk pretending to be playing on her phone. Mei frowned, this was probably how she treated the blond, at times and now that Yuzu had been this way she didn't like it one bit.

"It's ok." Looked for the words to say to help her girlfriend. "I- I finished my work today, we have the weekend to do whatever you want, if you want."

"Yeah that sounds nice." Yuzu said coolly. Silence feel in the room again Mei was about to bring up Yuzu's father when Yuzu broke the silence. "Have you spoken to papa lately?"

It was an off question, but Yuzu was always adamant about helping Mei fix her relationship with her father. "No, he doesn't usually have his phone on if he's out of the country."

"Oh." Yuzu turned around to face her sister. A weird feeling of jealousy tugged at her emotions. "You should probably talk to him when you can." You have that choice still… Yuzu thought sadly.

Mei bit the inside of her cheek. "Yeah I will." Mei promised her. "Yuzu… Why didn't you let me come with you today?"

"I didn't want to drag you out of town just to see my papa. Especially since you have work and whatnot. It probably wouldn't have been worth the trip for you." This partially a lie. To be honest after coming to terms with their feelings and experiencing a lot of negativity from people, Yuzu was hesitant to bring Mei back to her father's grave.

It seemed silly, since everyone else was so accepting, but since he was gone, she wouldn't ever know how he would react, and still, even though he was gone she was still nervous to bring it up to her father as if he was alive.

Mei was slightly hurt by her reasoning. Yuzu was right, work often did take precedence over Yuzu, it was a bad habit she was trying to hard to quit. But for Yuzu to think that she wouldn't be worth the time to Mei is the last thing the raven-haired girl ever wanted her lover to think.

"I wouldn't have minded…" Mei said softly.

Yuzu blushed. "It's ok… M-maybe you can come next year…"

"Or tomorrow"

Yuzu jumped at the thought. "N-no! We'll just stay here. Me and you and just hang out." Yuzu forced a smile. She still wasn't ready to bring Mei to the grave, especially so close to the anniversary of her father's death.

"Yuzu… What's wrong." Mei sat at the edge of the bed and stared intensely at the blond.

"N- nothing! I just want to spend that day with you."

"I mean if we go, then we'll be spending time regardless."

Yuzu hated how Mei's simple logic would beat her. Mei raised an eye brow becoming suspicious of her girlfriend.

"Why don't you want to go? Is it because you don't want me to come?"

"No! It's just… It's a personal thing for me." Yuzu stood up and laid on the bed next to Mei. "I just… You wouldn't understand." Yuzu knew she was doing the wrong thing by keeping her feelings from Mei, after all it was one of the things she berated Mei for. But now here she was being a hypocrite.

"What do you mean I wouldn't understand?" As much as Mei felt bad for Yuzu and despite the many awful things she's said to the blond, she felt not having a father was something she could understand. "It's not like my father was there throughout my life."

Yuzu stood up and faced Mei. "At least he's still in your life." Yuzu said bitterly. "AT LEAST YOU CAN STILL HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM!" Yuzu shouted.

"Relationship!?" Mei felt her blood boiling. "The man disappeared for 13 years! Only to tell me that he got married!" Mei stood up, now crying herself.

"He sent you letters! Hundreds of them! And still you can't even bear to try and contact him every now and then!" Tears flowed freely "He tried to mend whatever he could out of your relationship, and help you be free for yourself."

"What do you know about my father and my relationship with him?! Your dad is dead!"

The instant those last words left her mouth Mei regretted it. If she could simply reach out and catch those words before it got to Yuzu's ears she would've slapped them on the ground and left it at that. But that's the thing about words, you can't take them back.

Yuzu stood still, trying to comprehend what had just transpired. She let those words soak into heart. She wanted to be mad, but she couldn't. Because at the end of the day Mei was right. Her father was dead. And she didn't have the right or expertise to criticize the relationship between Mei and her step father.

"You're…." Yuzu began. She could've been petty and said mean insults. "You're right. I'm sorry. I wouldn't know anything about it." Yuzu said softly. Instead she walked passed Mei into their living room and shut the door behind her. She decided to sleep on the couch tonight.

Mei stood there speechless. She didn't mean to say that. She wanted to help the blond with getting over her fathers death, but instead reminded her of it. After a few moments Mei laid on the bed trying to figure out something, ANYTHING to fix the problem.

Ume watched as her normally cheery daughter sat on the couch watching t.v. Ume sighed she heard the entire argument. She couldn't blame Mei and her feelings, but she didn't expect a blowout like that. Ume walked into the living room picture book in hand and plopped on the couch next to Yuzu.

"Some night huh?" Ume began.

Yuzu silently nodded.

"Here, let me show you something." Ume opened the picture book to a marked page which caught Yuzu's attention. On the page was a letter and a single photo. It was a picture of her father hold a toddler Yuzu up straight into the air in front of the camera. A giant smile stretched across his face as if he was a little kid holding a trophy. Yuzu had inherited her mothers' eyes, but her face and hair screamed her father. Yuzu started crying again.

"Do you miss him mama?" She said whipping away her tears.

"All the time dear. I loved your father deeply." Ume pulled the letter from the book and handed it to Yuzu. "There will be no other man in the world like him. It took me about 13 years for me to finally be comfortable to date again. And that's when I met Sho."

"Mama! I'm not saying that Sho is a bad person or anything, and I love my life, I love my family, and I love Mei more than anything. But I just wish I could still talk to papa…"

Ume sighed. "I know sweetie. For a while when I was first dating Sho, I constantly asked myself if it was ok for me to be happy like this again. If it was ok for me to be in love again, and to find an amazing man who loved me too. If anything, I resisted Sho for a while, but in the end I'm sure your father would be looking down disappointed in me if I had done that.

Yuzu's eyes widened. "How would you know that?"

Ume pointed to the letter. "See for yourself. He wrote that when you were born."

Yuzu delicately unfolded the letter, careful not to break the fragile old paper it was dated a couple months after her birth.

"To my little Yuzu,"

Yuzu read aloud.

"Where do I begin for my sunshine? It's only been a couple months since your birth, and yet you and your mother make me feel happier every day! I'm writing this letter in the hopes that when you grow up and become an adult, I can give you this letter so that no matter what happens or how far apart we'll be, I will always love you. As you grow up, times will come when you feel you are being pushed into the background. Never allow this to happen- stand always on your own foundation, but you will have to make that foundation. I believe in you, after all, you're my daughter."

Yuzu's tears turned to tears of happiness. A smiled pulled at her lips as she read that her father would always believe in her.

"I'm glad you've taken your mother's bright green eyes, other than my typical brown eyes for one. I know you'll grow up to be as bright and colorful as your eyes. One of the reasons why I fell in love with your mother. One day you will find someone that will change your life and just like that it will feel like everything you've felt, and all the scenery around you will take color. I hope to one day meet that person, regardless of who they are. One day I'll tell you about that day I first met your mother, it wasn't as romantic as you probably think…."

Yuzu peeked over at her mother who blushed, and laughed nervously. "Let's just say I wasn't the most coordinated person in high school…"

Yuzu continued to read.

"In any event my darling girl, if the worst of fates were ever to befall me, I will always be with you. No matter where you go I won't be very far. I can guarantee that Yuzu. Sign your father."

Yuzu wiped the tears from her eyes "Mama…? Do you think he would've liked Mei? Or have been proud in my choice?"

Ume smiled. "Yuzu, you could do no wrong in the eyes of that man. I'm sure he would've loved Mei as much as he loved you."

Yuzu smiled, but a felt a bit guilty. She felt dumb now, for ever thinking that her father wouldn't approve of the lavender eyed girl. "Mama, I didn't bring Mei to the grave today, because I was scared…" Yuzu finally admitted.

"I know darling. I had a feeling that would be the reason. It must've felt as if you were telling me about you two all over again. Only this time, you wouldn't get an answer. Whether it was good or bad."

Yuzu put the letter back in the picture book, but kept the picture out. She wanted to frame it. "I didn't mean for that fight to be taken so far…" Yuzu sighed. "I need to apologize and make it up to her…"

Ume smiled. "I think she has a lot to get off her chest as well…"

Little did the two women know, Mei had listened in to the entire conversation. Mei was uncontrollably crying on the other side of the door. She felt so moved by the letter that Yuzu's father had left behind, and so guilty for what she had said, and even a little guilty for taking her own father for granted. If it made Yuzu happy, I would trade places with her father…. Mei thought to herself feeling that if there was anything Yuzu deserved it was to have her father again, because if there was anything that Mei didn't deserve it was Yuzu.

Mei brought her knees in and continued to listen to the conversation between the two women.

"I really wish papa could meet Mei…" Yuzu said.

"Me too." Ume laughed "However I doubt Mei would've taken to your father. There were times where he was a little emotional. Mei probably would've given him constant glares."

Yuzu laughed at the thought of her father trying to protect her from suitors, but giving in to the lavender eyed girl.

Mei smiled at the thought of having a father in law as emotional as Yuzu. If anything, she probably with that. Yuzu never had that chance to be "daddy's little girl." And despite how strict her father and grandfather were, Mei never once felt like she wasn't her father's princess. I guess I'll be the one to treat her like a princess… Mei thought.

"So mama…" Yuzu began. "How did you two meet?"

Ume chuckled. "I was working in high school as a part time waitress. Which is something unheard of especially for a 16-year-old. He and his football teammates came into the restaurant. At the time I didn't know your father. All I knew was that he was the hansom jock that everyone loved. Unfortunately, I got stuck serving their table. The last thing I wanted people to know was that I had a job to earn money for college. Long story short, I toppled over a huge milk shake all over your father, when he stood up to help me clean the mess he slipped and landed on me."

Ume rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Just imagine being on top of a female covered in a white substance."

Yuzu laughed loudly. "I didn't realize it was that bad."

"Yeah, but since that day he always came in for a milkshake, and I always looked forward to his conversations. And we just fell in love."

Yuzu blushed and smiled. "That's beautiful…"

Ume smiled. "Well it's time to go to bed, back to the job tomorrow. You also probably have another long day ahead of you tomorrow." Ume stood up and walked to her room. "Good night darling." And she closed the door behind her.

"Night mama." Yuzu looked at the picture of again. "Good night papa." Yuzu stood up and walked to her room. She hesitated for a moment wondering if Mei was still mad at her, and if she was allowed back into the bed.

Slowly she took a deep breath and walked in. Upon entering the room, she saw Mei sitting in the dark on their bed wiping her own tears away.

"M-Mei?" Yuzu played with her hair "I'm sorr-" Before Yuzu could finish her sentence Mei had cupped her face held her for a kiss. In an instant Yuzu melted. She closed the door behind her before wrapping her arms around Mei's hips pulling her closer.

For what seemed like minutes Yuzu reluctantly broke the kiss much to Mei's annoyance. But things needed to be talked about.

"Mei wait… I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or pry into your life. You were right, I have no right to be criticizing you and your relationship with your father." Yuzu leaned her forehead against Mei's. "I'm sorry babe."

Mei bit her lip, she couldn't stand how cute Yuzu was. Even when she was crying, Yuzu was just simply amazing. "I was wrong too. I didn't realize how much your father still meant to you… And you're right about how I've treated my father…" Mei wrapped her arms around Yuzu's neck. "I shouldn't have said what I said."

"probably made you feel really awful, as if I'd rather have my father over you. But as much as I miss my father, I love having you in my life now. But I don't care about an argument I'll still be here tomorrow for you, and everyday for the rest of my life."

Mei never wanted to be the reason why Yuzu was sad, especially since Yuzu had always been a bright star in her life. She only ever wanted to be like that to Yuzu for as log as the blond would let her.

"I guess we both have daddy issues…" Yuzu chuckled softly and she moved to nuzzle Mei's neck, which brought chills down the younger girls' spine.

"Hah… I guess so." Mei tangled her fingers into Yuzu's blond locks.

"But I have you…" Yuzu continued. "And you'll always have me…"

The two broke a part to face each other. Mei stroked Yuzu's lips with her thumb. "I'm glad you'd mine. I love you so much." Mei kissed Yuzu hungrily.

Yuzu moaned softly into the kiss and pulled her girlfriend closer. Slowly she licked Mei's lips asking for entrance, to which the dark-haired girl allowed. With Mei's arms locked around Yuzu's neck, Yuzu scooped up the younger girl holding Mei's legs up around her hips and she walked towards the bed.

Mei moaned at the sudden change in position, and feeling the pressure of Yuzu laying on top of Mei as she fell back onto the bed only turned her on more. Yuzu broke the kiss only to move to the younger girls' neck.

"I- Is this make-up sex?" Mei asked in between moans, as Yuzu grinded their sexes together.

"Mm… don't know…" Yuzu said kissing her way to Mei's ears. "Does it matter?" Yuzu whispered into Mei's ears.

Mei dug her nails into Yuzu's shoulders. "Just… Want to know… The next time I s-should piss you off…"

Yuzu licked and bit Mei's ears. "Why? Clearly you can't handle it…"

Mei moaned louder. "Don't tease babe…" Mei pleaded.

Yuzu grinned. "Shhh… I didn't taste you the whole day… I guess tonight will have to suffice till tomorrow."

Mei ran her fingers up Yuzu's shirt excited for the night, even though they both would pay for it tomorrow morning.

The next day the two girls made their way around the town, climbing hills, and weaving through people, and up and down stairs.

"We might've gone over board last night…" Yuzu said exhausted. She couldn't understand how Mei always seemed to have the ability to sleep so little but be able to go about her day.

"Mm. That's your fault" Mei replied coolly.

Yuzu smirked. "It was worth it." Yuzu stretched as they made their last climb up the stairs to the graveyard. Mei got the flowers ready, and actually felt nervous as if she was actually going to meet Yuzu's father.

They came upon the grave, and both girls gave a small prayer before both sitting crossed legged in from of the stone. Mei left the flowers in front of the grave.

"Hi papa. I brought Mei back again! A lot of things have happened since I first introduced you two." Yuzu reached over and grabbed Mei's had showing her ring finger to the stone. Mei blushed embarrassed for a second she felt like someone was actually there that they were meeting. "I asked her to marry me papa…" Yuzu smiled to Mei. "And she said yes!"

Mei gave a small smile and held Yuzu's hand as turned towards the stone. "Father… Thank you for Yuzu…" Mei's eyes started to well up in tears as she bowed. "She's the most amazing person I've ever met, and she's my favorite person in the whole world. I promise you I will love her and cherish her forever."

Yuzu squeezed Mei's hand. Mei was never good at emotions or opening up to people. But here was her lover pouring her heart to a man long gone.

"I will do my best to make her happy, and give her everything she would want or need. Just like she was the sunshine of your life, she's the sunshine in mine, she brings color to my mundane life, and I never ever want her to lose her shine. I hope that I have your blessing to marry your daughter and make her my wife."

Yuzu smiled. See papa… Do you see us…?

The wind picked up a bit and a warm sensation touch Mei's head as if someone was ruffling her hair, and Yuzu felt a warm sensation as if someone was kissing her forehead. Both girls looked up as if expecting someone to have been there. But no one was there, they both began to cry, feeling as if they had just received a gift from the afterlife. Yuzu weaved her fingers with Mei's and the two kissed.

Meanwhile while Ume was walking out of the subway to work, when she felt a hand on her shoulder, when she turned to see who it was no one was there. Ume smiled to herself. I see… I'm glad you could give her one more message.

Let me know what ya'll think. I didn't revise it much so there's probably a lot of errors.
