The sun rose high over the Gotham City skyline as she pulled the covers over her head to fight the tears that filled her hazel colored eyes. She curled her body taking the form of a child who refused to admit defeat as she groped the bed for a hope or inclination he was there beside her. She felt the warmth of the pillow easily fooled by the sleepy state she was in. "Smallville." She whispered as she grabbed for it pulling the cotton blend close to her. Her dreams of him her red blue blur still dancing around her head.

As all dreams come to an end she felt the need to rise from her bed. Not pleased at all that the last kiss she would remember would be the one that he had promised her he'd return.
'I'll be back Lois. Go be safe. Bruce get her out of here!'
"NO! CLARK! COME BACK!" She cried out as she shot up blankets tumbling down around her as she raised her hands to her face no longer able to hold back tears.

"Lois?" Asked a calm voice as he approached her from the shadows of the room. He had been out protecting his city all night and he felt his heart break even if he chose not to admit he had one. "Go back to sleep. Rest." Bruce whispered as he sat on the bed his cowl pulled back revealing his face.
"He can't be dead.. I need to find him.." Lois protested still not allowing the fact that Clark's death had happened sink in.
