Hello darlings! Sapphy here! This is another Mary Sue story, for the HG. First one was for Harry Potter. In fact, that one's not actually finished. Actually, we've written one chapter. Anyway, I wrote this chapter in Citizenship because I was boooooored, but I'm sure Spire's will join in (o-er!) on the next one. . Ha, I'm an account hog! Anyway, please review!

Chapter One

In Which There Is A Lot Of Crying

Carrabellamarina Rosebud Diamond Esmeralda Isabelle Graciousa Perfecta Maria Suealinda de Channe looked up at the district representative with her massive, and entrancing purple eyes, which looked like two glowing amethysts in her perfect heart-shaped face.

"This year, the girl representing District 8 will be…" he said, hovering his hand over the bowl, before plunging it in and pulling out a name, "Katherine de Channe!"

Carrabellamarina felt her heart go cold. That was her little sister! The little sister who had been so cruel and taunting to her over the years, albeit. But still her sister. She watched the plump, brown haired girl move through the crowd, her blotchy face streaming with tears of fear, and knew she had to act.

"I volunteer!" she called out in her perfect voice, which sounded like the tinkling of a thousand bells.

There was a collective gasp from the audience. " No! Not Carrabellamarina Rosebud Diamond Esmeralda Isabelle Graciousa Perfecta Maria Suealinda de Channe!"

She began to move forwards towards the stage, a sudden (and random) wind blowing her thin white dress around her slender form, making her look like a tragically beautiful angel.

"Carrabellamarina! No! Don't do it!" Called a voice from the crowd.

"She's so brave!" cried another. Several girls began to sob; and a couple of boys. They just couldn't bear the fact that such a beautiful, amazingly nice, brave and fearless (and modest) girl had put herself forwards for the sister who didn't deserve her, and that she was now facing certain death.

The district representative was even crying now, now that he looked upon the beautiful girl, with her burning purple eyes and perfectly silky golden brown curls. "You're too good for this cruel world…" he managed to choke, before burying his face in the shoulder of the mayor, who patted his back. The mayor was actually crying himself.

"The love of district 8 goes with you, my dear." He said, sniffing and blowing his nose in a hanky.

Carabella smiled that beautiful smile. "Thank you. I'll remember that."

The district representative actually fainted when he saw the smile, such was its radiance.

In fact, it wasn't until they'd lead her away to the waiting room with a guard of honour, consisting of 12 (sobbing) Peacekeepers, that they realised they'd forgotten to draw a male tribute.

They finally did; Keyvn Harrison was chosen, and before the assembled masses of District 8, he swore that he'd lay down his life to keep Carabella safe. Because…he loved her. With a passion. And his life would not be worth living if she was gone. This was meet with cheers, and renewed sobbing, because all of District 8 knew that their lives too would not be worth living if Carabella wasn't there anymore. They all saluted her with the District 8 sign of honour; the index and middle fingers of the right hand stuck up, and the hand turned so that the palm faced the saluter.

And after several tearful goodbyes (which consisted of at least 25 boys who had to be dragged, sobbing, away from her), Carrabella was on her way to the capitol…DUN DAH!
