It was a morning not unlike any other. Sirius went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. The dorm was empty when he woke, he figured that his friends were already eating, he slept in after all. When he entered the hall, there they were, eating the last of the bacon. His Remus and Peter were sitting with their fellow Gryffindor seventh years, Marlene McKinnon, Alice Prewett, and Emileen Vance. Again, this was not unusual. Once Lily and James had gotten along on a first name basis, the two groups had merged into a large collective. Lily and James weren't down yet. Also quite normal, the two shared the Head's dorm so they ate breakfast a bit later than the others.

It was a completely normal start to a seemingly equally unexceptional day. So when Lily burst loudly into the Great Hall everybody turned to look. She ran triumphantly clutching a sketchbook to her chest. James was hot on her heels looking indignant. She stopped just out of his reach and began to flip through the book.

"Me, Sirius, me, the Marauders," She announced teasing.

"C'mon Lily," James pleaded holding out his hand. "Give it here." She almost handed it over, but she caught the sparkle in his eye.

"Um," Lily pondered, "No." She giggled and stepped farther out of reach. It seemed that the pair had no idea of their audience.

"Sirius, Hagrid, me, me, Sirius, me." She said flipping through some more. "And another one of Sirius!" she crowed. James took off chasing her. Lily kept just out of reach as they raced around the Great Hall.

"Don't worry James!" she called over her shoulder. "I won't say anything about your special relationship."

James had come within reaching distance and grabbed her wrist. Laughing, Lily stopped. He grabbed her waist and pulled her in closer. Lily turned to face him. She pressed the sketchbook against his chest. The rest of the Hall watched with baited breath.

"Jealous?" James asked looking down at her.

"Of course." Lily confessed with a grin, and then she kissed him.

The Great Hall erupted with shouts. The Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor tables clapped and cheered while the majority of the Slytherins tries to look uninterested. The only sound rivaling the din of applause was the clanging of the largest amount of gold the Great Hall had ever seen, being exchanged. The pair looked around as if finally realizing they had an audience.

"Well," Lily grinned at James, "Cat's out of the bag now."
