Okay, this is kind of a spin-off of my other story, Life Is Good. It can be read after that, or on it's own... though if you read it alone, you will probably end up with a 'WTF' face at the end. XD If it is liked, it will become chaptered. At the moment, though, tis a one-shot. Enjoy!

The tall ginger tom looked down from the top of a junk pile as a silver and black tabby talked to a small group of queen-kits. He was too far away to make out what was being said, but the looks on the kittens faces explained everything. They had tried to convince one of their idols to perform for them, but he had pulled an excuse out of thin air and was about to make his escape. Macavity chuckled and made his way silently down the pile, waiting for Munkustrap. As he waited, a special memory came unbidden to his mind.

-Flashback-

Macavity looked over at Munkustrap, who grinned back. They looked back at the furious Etcetera. Apparently she didn't like having her fur dyed hot pink. Dodging around all of the piles of junk, it wasn't too long before they lost her. They were both looking behind them to make sure that they had lost the furious princess, so neither of them saw the sudden drop right in front of them. Yelping as they fell, they clung to each other. Macavity gasped when he landed, all of the breath being driven from his lungs. He heard Munkustrap land not to far away, and worried that the tabby had been hurt. He wasn't quite sure when the friendship had become love, but it had. He briefly wished that the silver tabby would feel the same. Once he got his breath back, he called out.

"Munk? Ya okay?"

The tall ginger tom tried to force down panic when there was no answer right away. He was about to call again when a weak voice answered him.

"Yeah, I'm good." Macavity relaxed and started to get up, turning around to face Munkustrap. He wasn't sure how close or far away the tabby had landed, so he was very surprised when he turned around to be met with a pair of emerald green eyes staring right into his and a pair of lips on his. Both toms froze, not moving. At the same time they moved back as if they had been electrocuted, standing up and staring at each other with a couple dozen emotions in their wide eyes. Silence reigned for a few moments, then they both started talking at once.

"...so sorry..."

"...didn't mean to..."

"...all my fault..."

"...please don't hate me..."

"I'm gay!" Both toms blinked at each other. The unexpected and unplanned confession had burst from both of them at the same time. A small spark of hope was kindled and they inched toward each other. Again, silence reigned, then they spoke at the same time. "I love you!" After staring at each other in shock for a few moments again, they both grinned and moved forward again. This time, the kiss was completely intentional.

Later, the two toms made their way to the top of a pile of junk to look at the stars and talk about what to do now and how to tell the tribe. By midnight, both were yawning and they still had no idea how to tell the others. Finally, Munkustrap shrugged and stood up, holding out his hand to Macavity. "Let's keep thinking about this, and just give up for the night. I'm dead on my feet, and I suspect that you are too." He looked at the ginger tom with a raised eyebrow and grinned as Macavity shifted uncomfortably and looked away. Macavity finally looked back and grinned.

"C'mon love. Let's go to OUR den." Munkustrap's grin widened and they headed in. Their problems could wait till tomorrow.

-End Flashback-

"Hey, love, what has you so happy?" Macavity blinked as he looked at Munkustrap. He grinned and walked over to his mate, hugging and gently kissing him. "Just a memory. A wonderful memory."
