A/N: So I was laying in bed one day and one of my favorite songs by Evanescence cam on and I thought I might as well write this! So yeah. Just a one-shot inspired by Lithium by Evanescence. Hope ya like!
Disclaimer: I don't own Les Mis or Evanescence, otherwise Ev would still be a band and not so many people would have died...
Lithium, don't wanna lock me up inside.
All her life, she had been locked up in her own world of undeserved pain. Beaten and abused, she had little in her life that was positive.
I wanna stay in love with my sorrows.
The only one who saw her for who she was as a person. In love with a woman he saw from afar. In love with a woman who she had once known, in a time long ago when her life was only slightly less miserable than it is now.
Just didn't drink enough to say you love me.
He was perfect, so perfect. No matter how many nights she had dreamt that she would wake to find him next to her, it would never come true. He would never love her. No amount of alcohol would change that. What had she expected? He was a right burgousie boy and she was a street rat.
Drown my will to fly.
What reason did she have to keep living, now that he had chosen another woman? She only wanted to care for somebody and be cared for in return. He had made her believe that she was capable of anything. He made her believe that she would make any man a lucky one, by having her by his side. Why try to pursue a dream that could not be? He truly was the only one she wanted to make happy, and she would do everything in her power to make it so. Even if it included finding his dream girl for him.
In the end, I guess I had to fall.
She would never be mad at him. It wasn't humanly possible for her. If anything, she was angry at herself for giving out her heart so readily to this best friend of hers.
Always find my place among the ashes.
He was brilliant, yet stupid. Far too eager to die for something so unsure. She would be there for him through hurt and promise which was more than he could say for his lark. He stood on top of the lonely barricade, ready to take his life for the victory of his friends. She saw his fate coming to him though. As soon as the gun was raised, she jumped in front of him, sacrificing herself for him. Quietly she stumbled down to the bottom of the barricade. As he held her and saw her at last, her twinkling brown eyes seemed to say one last thing.
I wanna stay in love with you.
