YES
Do you like her?
"What?" Rinne struggled against his ropes.
"Oh how sweet are you?" Renge scoffed.
Rinne kicked up some of the dirt under his feet which caused Renge to cough and cover her eyes.
"Rokumon!" Rinne called for the black cat to steal Renge's scythe and cut his ropes.
Rinne dashed past Renge, who was still trying to regain her sight and told Rokumon to tie her up, so that he could have time to find Sakura. He cursed Renge for stealing his haori. It would be much easier for an aerial search. He ran through the streets, passing shouting people left and right all telling him to slow down, scarves slapping him in the face as he rushed by. He had no time to waste. He had to find Sakura.
The frigid air stung his cheeks. He panted coming into the park off a full run. He was reminded of Renge's MO, and was looking for a clue, any clue as to where she had left Sakura.
There was no snow on the ground, so the white along the pond's edge caught his attention. Floating all along the water were white flowers, no, white lotus flowers.
"Sakura-Mamiya!" He called, hoping for a response.
All he heard was the whoosh of his blood through his ears. He ran again, around the perimeter of the pond until the came upon what he feared most.
He sprinted and splashed into the freezing water. Mostly submerged in the water was a child with wrists bound to the dock. A sixteen-year-old girl with tangled hair and blue lips. Sakura Mamiya.
His heart screamed for her to move, for her to look up and say she was cold, to breathe.
He managed to untie her and lift her up out of the water and onto the shore. He felt her heart racing through her back, but he listened and could hear only the faintest of breath sounds. His legs ached from running and the plunge, and he could move no further from this spot. He had never felt so helpless.
"Sakura. Sakura. Sakura. Don't do this. I love you."
He screamed, and a woman walking with her grandsons was lucky to hear him. She ran to Rinne, with her young grandsons following closely behind.
"What happened?"
"Sh-she fell in-I don't know what to do!"
She gestured to her grandson to call for an ambulance and stripped off Sakura's coat, covering Sakura in her own warm dry one.
The ambulance took the both of them, Rinne would also be treated for hyperthermia.
Tsubasa cornered Rinne in the emergency room hall.
"What did you do?"
Rinne picked at the bandages on his feet, which were treated for frostbite.
"You told her that you-"
"That I what? I don't care Jumonji, shouldn't you be by her side?"
"Why would you tell her that? You know you don't have a chance."
"….."
"Do you?" Tsubasa glared.
Rinne sat in silence for long enough for Tsubasa to get mad. Before he yelled at him again, he answered "Yes."
"Yes, I love her, and there's not a thing I can do about it."
