Matsubi has made friends with two people Aiko and Yui, but with friends come enemies he has had a constant rivalry with a Hyuga boy by the name of Sohan. This boy's idle is Naruto which made matsubi always state sasuke is way stronger then they argue and then fight. Matsubi graduated top of his class from the academy with Sohan being second. The teacher named the teams and said "Team 9 matsubi, Aiko, and Sohan" as if someone threatened his life matsubi stood up and yelled " Fight me you Hyuga scum" and then they fought and ended it in a draw. They wait to meet their sensie and down the hall they hear "its the power of youth" a man with black hair cut in a bowl and a green suit says "Hello my name is rock lee and I am your sensie".
They go on their first mission as a team which was to catch a bear that was causing trouble. Matsubi takes it out with one hit. Sohan was so amazed by how strong matsubi was while Sohan was congratulating him matsubi just said "it wasn't that hard loser". They stopped getting into fight about who's idle was stronger but started a rivalry about who was stronger out of them. They would fight using there jutsu but allays draw. after awhile they developed a friendship and Sohan relieved that he had the son of Matatabi sealed inside of him named Johtatobi. The began to master many jutsu matsubi learned Fireball jutsu and lions barrage and Sohan learned eight tri grams rotation and eight tri grams sixty-four palms. the would later learn chidori and rasengan everyone knew this rivalry would never end.
