Rules
There was a rule among Class 1-A: when playing with Bakugo, someone had to cheat.
The thing was, however silly the game, he would always get so crazily competitive it was insufferable. So, at that point, it was just a matter of having fun at his expenses. As long as no one got caught.
That someone had cheated was obvious when the game of Old Maid ended with the last pair of Queens on the table, and no cards in anyone's hands.
"What the hell!" screamed King Explosion Murder. Everyone else looked as innocent as they could possibly be.
"Someone must have destroyed a Queen." suggested Deku, after checking the discard pile. "There's only one pair here."
"It was you then!" the boy pointed a finger at Mina. "You dissolved it with acid!"
"I have done no such thing." the girl said, contemptuously. "What, you want to check me?"
"Then you!" he quickly shifted his anger at Todoroki. "You burned it!"
"I would not use my hot side for something so trivial." replied the other, coolly.
The accusation game went on for a while (clearly, someone was cheating at this one too). It all ended with Bakugo storming out and slamming the door behind him, and everyone having a laugh.
Mina sighed in relief. She relaxed her left hand, that she kept in a cup right under the table, holding some unrecognizable gloop that had once been a card. That bluff had gone well.
She saw Todoroki sigh almost at the same exact time. He got up casually, trying to hide something in his right hand. Some ash dripped from it on the floor.
Wait, she thought, but then how were there two other Queens left?
At the other end of the table, unsuspected, Momo smiled.
