The Company Christmas Party

"Why am I here?" Seto Kaiba thought as he stood against the wall of Pegasus' Company Christmas party. "Would you like a drink?" A voice asked politely behind him. He turned around to see a girl of about 17, his own age, with short black hair and bright blue eyes. "No thank you." He replied. "I thought I should offer seeing as my boss is determined to get completely pissed again." She smiled. Seto looked at her confused. "Every year Mr Pegasus gets completely off his head at the Christmas party and doesn't seem to care what anyone thinks." She explained. "Oh." He said, still feeling confused.

He watched Pegasus drinking all evening, laughing whenever he made a complete ass of himself (which was pretty much every 5 minutes). Suddenly Pegasus jumped up from where he was sitting playing Spin The Bottle with some of the younger employees and ran out the room. Seto stared in amazement as everyone just laughed and ignored the fact that Pegasus had run off. "WTF?" He mumbled. "Every year once he's got pissed he goes to the photocopy room." The girl from before explained. "Why does he do that?" Seto asked. "Ummm….well…he…" Suddenly there came a shout from another room. "THE PHOTOCOPIER'S STOPPED WORKING!" "Oh god! Excuse me, I've got to go and phone the repair company." She sighed before walking towards the phone.

About half an hour later, after the repair guy had been and fixed the photocopier, when the girl was chatting to him and they were both laughing Pegasus stumbled up to her. "Anwen! I'm taking you home this year." He leered. "No thank you sir. I can make it home on my own." She gulped but still sounded polite. "Every year you won't let me but this year I won't take no for an answer!" He said leering again. All this time Seto had been silent but he could tell that Anwen was feeling really intimidated. "Actually Pegasus, she's agreed to let me see her home." He frowned, standing forward so that he was between Pegasus and Anwen. "Really Kaiba-boy? I'm surprised that you asked her. Never mind, next year then Anwen." Pegasus slurred, the last part obviously directed at Anwen. Seto turned around to face Anwen. "Come on, I'm getting you out of here." He said. "But…" She began. "Just come on." He sighed before putting an arm around her and steering her out the room.

"Why do you put up with that?" He asked when they were sat in his limo. "Because the job pays so well." She whispered, looking shaken after what had happened. "You shouldn't have to put up with that, no matter how well the job pays!" He growled. He looked at her and noticed that tears were starting to slide down her pale face. "Hey now, don't cry." He said gently, sliding over to her and putting his arms around her. But once she'd started she couldn't stop so he held her close to him until she finished crying. "You've only just met me! Why are you being so nice to me?" She asked. "Because you treated me like a normal person and not like most other girls do." He replied softly. "I figured that you wouldn't want me to because all the girls go crazy when you're around." She said, her voice still muffled by his chest. He lifted her face to look into her eyes. "Thank you." He smiled before putting his lips to hers.

The next day, Anwen quit her job. And stood by her as she yelled at Pegasus for harassing her was Seto. "Well done." He whispered in her ear as they left the office. She turned to her new boyfriend before giving him a small kiss on the cheek. "I couldn't have done it without you." She smiled. As they left the building with the stuff from her desk Seto spotted a photocopied picture of someone's ass. "Don't tell that that is what Pegasus does every year at the Christmas party!" He gasped. "Yeah." She giggled as she looked at his surprised face.
