Well, here we are. This story idea came to me while I was doing what I usually do, browsing youtube and fanfiction for something that would rescue me from boredom. Now a few words before we get into the story. The first few (I haven't quite planned on how many) chapters of the story will not include the vast majority of the RWBY cast since I am planning to use these chapter to build the world I plan to put into Remnant. Don't worry, there won't be many OCs not to mention pretty much most of them will die long before RWBY season 1 and only one will remain.
Also…..a bit of help on revising RWBY lore would be TRULLY appreciated since I just don't have the time to rewatch the show and wiki doesn't help much. Sorry for the short length. I didn't want to write a long prologue. Anyway enough of me rambling on and on, TO THE STORY!
Prologue
The first rays of sunlight illuminated a city as it slowly rose to the sky. Many features made this city different from the usual. A wall that must have being over three hundred feet tall encircled the city with a watch tower at every 50 feet interval and only one heavily fortified gateway at the center. Buildings that had an almost impossible architecture rose high into the sky. Above it all was what appeared to be a giant floating platform with glowing sky blue crystals at the bottom. This added the effect of the city seemingly glowing in warm blue light.
All who had seen this city would have being awestruck and say it looked like something out of a fantasy novel. But now something was wrong. Horrible wrong.
Chunks of the once mighty walls had fallen off with cracks in almost every surface from constant artillery bombardment. A road was all that told that a gateway once stood there. Inside the city was far, far worse.
Flames ate away what few buildings that remained standing with smoke seemingly rising from everywhere. Entire districts were buried in rubble. But it was at the center that the true horror lay. A leftover of hastily built defensive wall surrounded a stone statue. Blood was everywhere with mangled corpses covering the ground.
One lone figure stood beneath the statue. A dull grey cloak fluttered slightly on the wind showing the leather armor beneath. Blood seeped from the numerous wounds on him. From the shadows of a hood, grim blue eyes stared as shaky grimy hands worked furiously on something on the base of the statue. He had the task or all was lost.
Suddenly a sword tip spouted out of his chest with a wet thunk. His vision rapidly started to dim as the pain grew worse. With his final strength the man pulled a lever before going limp.
The glow of the city changed as the crystals above turned to red. A sound that was like hammers on an anvil filled the sky. Then with an almighty CRASH the sky flashed with a brilliant white. When the white faded, the platform above the city was gone.
Down below in the burning city 4 sets of blue orbs stared at each other.
"Skyway activation detected."
"Mission incomplete."
"Grimm presence closing in."
"….Recover the bastion….Kill the Cael."
