Dammit!
Missing scene for Miller's Crossing. Occurs right before the missing scene I wrote called I'll Do It. Due to the sharp nature of the real title, I used a secondary title for posting.
John's POV. One-shot. Not mine.
Dammit!
Dammit! Dammit all to hell! I slapped my hand against the wall, feeling the sting as a welcome relief from the unanswerable problem before me. Turning, I leaned against the wall, refusing to slide down to floor. That would be a type of giving up.
Both hands pulled at my hair, bringing another pain. I ran through a litany of curse words, English, Spanish, Satedan–all mentally. No sense upsetting anyone who might be within earshot.
How the hell did we end up with this empasse? A hungry Wraith, and McKay... God, McKay. I know he's gonna try something.
I pushed away from the wall, thumbing my radio. "Send Wallace to the interrogation room in fifteen minutes."
I ran to my temporary quarters, grabbing for my rucksack. I needed those pictures Kaleb had handed me to give to Jeannie. Sliding them into my BDU pocket, I headed for the infirmary. There was something I might need, and I hoped I could get it.
It didn't take much. There was an entire box of medical supplies we'd confiscated from Wallace's lab. I grabbed the stuff we'd carried on the choppers for emergencies. It was strong stuff. It would work in a pinch.
Back out in the hall, I eased into a jog, blending in with the bustle of the base. My bag was by the door, and I snagged it on the way to interrogation two.
I didn't know exactly what I would say, but I'd think of something. I had to think of something. Rodney wouldn't give up on his plan to save Jeannie, and I couldn't let him follow through.
I left my bag with the sergeant guarding the door, stepping in to face Wallace. Dammit. Now what do I say?
