After reading the newest chapter, I felt I had to do another little drabbley thing, like with Ulquiorra.

Hope you like it!

***

It hurt.

There had never been so much pain before.

It had happened so fast.

Airborne, and then…

…Falling…

The pain hadn't hit her immediately, but even then, she knew.

She was going to die.

Something was dripping onto her face.

She felt it rolling down her forehead, hot and wet.

Her eyes slowly moved upwards for the source.

It was raining.

Her sky, her leader, her friend…

He was crying.

Hiyori had never seen Shinji cry.

Not in all the years she had known him, had she ever seen him despair.

It frightened her.

He frightened her.

Why was someone who seemed so strong, crying over someone like her?

She was close to him; she knew that all too well.

But still…

It made no sense.

She wanted to call him an idiot.

Wanted to stop that look on his face.

Where was his smile?

That smile that made everything, her world, seem okay?

He was holding her so tightly.

She didn't want him to let go.

But he was.

Slowly, gently, he was placing her on the rooftop.

His expression was even more terrifying than before.

Rage.

Shinji had never lost his temper.

Shinji was always in control, and always one to keep everyone else in line.

Like Hiyori.

He was the only person that could handle her high strung tendencies.

He was the only person she felt she could talk to.

She looked up to him.

She loved him.

In more ways than one.

Hang on a little longer…

His eyes said, as he gave her one last look.

Somehow, it amused her.

Why couldn't she say something?

Her body wouldn't move.

She couldn't even blink her eyes.

Don't die, idiot.

She wanted to tell him.

And then he was gone to take revenge.

Hiyori closed her eyes.

I'll hold on…for you.
