Sunset

. . . . . .

This is just a non-yaoi friendship thing I wanted to do on Sasori and Deidara's artistic ideas. They might seem OOC at times but I tried to keep them as in character as possible.

. . . . .

It had been a long day for Sasori and Deidara; they had just finished retrieving a scroll Pain had sent them to get. It was almost night as the two were nearing the base.

"Brat, we're almost there," Sasori said to Deidara who was walking next to him.

"Yeah," he answered, not really paying much attention. Choosing to ignore it, Sasori did the hand-seals to get into the base as they arrived. They walked down the winding hallways until they reached a door. They walked through to Akatsuki's living room like area.

They knocked on a door to the left and where answered with a "Come in."

"Did you get the scroll?" someone behind a large desk asked.

"Yes leader-sama," Sasori answered, handing him the scroll.

"Good, you're dismissed. I'll give you your next mission tomorrow," he stated.

"Hai," they said and left.

The two walked into their shared room and Deidara went to sleep while Sasori stayed up working on one of his puppets.

Next day

Deidara and Sasori had received their mission that morning and were currently traveling to the desert surrounding Sunagakure. It was just another simple mission to retrieve a scroll.

"Dana," Deidara began," how long until we're there?"

"About two more days," Sasori answered. After that Deidara continued to talk about random things. Sasori tolerated it until the sun began to set then declared that they would be setting up camp. Surprisingly, Deidara was quiet the rest of the night.

Sadly for Sasori, that silence didn't last very long. For as soon as he got the brat up to begin traveling, he began to talk again. He didn't even stop around noon when they stopped for a water break. Instead, he just began their regular argument about true art.

Yet again, when Sasori stopped them for the night, the blonde was strangely quiet. This was beginning to perplex Sasori. Why does he suddenly get so quiet at this time of day? He wondered.

"Hey brat," Sasori said, trying to get his attention. Deidara said nothing.

"Brat," he tried again; still no response.

"Deidara!" he said loudly, causing his partner to jump.

"What?" he asked slightly annoyed.

"What are you staring at every afternoon?" he questioned.

"The sunset," Deidara answered simply.

"Why?" Sasori asked, confused.

"Because, it is true art," Deidara answered, gesturing to it.

He then turned around and continued to look at it. Sasori stared at it too, noticing what his blonde partner meant. As the sun sank behind the horizon, the sky became a blend of blue, gold, and pink. The clouds shined with a beautiful light, capturing the sun's rays. Until, seemingly too fast, the sun was gone.

Deidara was right; this was true art. It was eternally fleeting. Sasori thought.

. . . . .

I hoped you liked it. This idea just came to me when I was watching the sun set and I had to write it. Please review and tell me what you think. :)
