A Tribute to Ten
Farewell, you who have been born from love
And so have you lived, and now have you died.
Do so with the knowledge that you have our thanks,
Always and forever, our savior and friend.
In your absence, a tear was made
In the fabric of our lives, in the material of the world.
All who have known you shall weep now you are gone.
Always so lonely, you will never be alone again.
You, who have traveled, wander no more,
You, who have fulfilled that which was your task;
To love and lose and protect forever,
Those whose world you have come to care for.
You watched over us, the lord of all time,
And though you have never asked for gratitude,
We give it to you now, the love and respect
You have never known, and shall never know.
You brought peace to our lives, restored them,
At the cost of your own and those you have loved.
And you shall never know all of your suffering
Could have been for naught, but memory fails.
And hearts will break when they hear your name,
The brave man, the healer of the universe,
So you shall go into the everlasting night.
Look up now and then, see the stars,
For in a world of night, even in death,
Every star, every planet, will cast its ghost across the sky.
And remember us always, for we have seen you,
A fleeting glimpse of the wonder of the universe,
Of beyond the stars, beyond the constraints of time,
For you are the Lord of Time itself,
And you shall live on forever in our hearts.
