There exists a moment, as the bliss of unconsciousness fades and reality has not yet set in, where everything you are disappears. Where you are, what the day brings, even your own name, during that brief period of time, none of it is registers. The closest family may as well be strangers, since everything that makes you who you are, doesn't exist.
Kagome loved those moments.
As quickly as it comes, that wonderful ignorance is lost. Replaced with thoughts of school, and him, and family, and him, and friends, and him, and the future, and him, him, him.
And now she's awake and alone, as if none of them had ever existed, as if none of it had ever happened. Left only with fading recollection of silver hair and amber eyes, whispered confessions and shy glances.
