Diana paced in the living room, trying to think of how to confess one of her darkest secrets.
" Princess Diana, Master Bruce has arrived he shall walk through the door in 3...2...1" Alfred counted down. Just as expected Bruce Wayne walked through the manor's door wearing a nice suit and tie, carrying a relatively large briefcase. He must have just come from a meeting at WayneTech.
"Princess, not that I don't like seeing you, but may I ask why you are here at this particular hour?" he asked in a deep, handsome voice. He set down his briefcase.
"Oh, yeah, I need to talk to you in private though, Alfred...will you please" asked the Amazon, on cue the butler exited the room.
"Yes Princess?" Bruce asked, raising a eyebrow.
" Um, I don't know how to word it..." Diana was cut off by Bruce.
" Being the world's greatest detective, I think I may know what you are trying to say" He said with a slight smirk as he walked up to her. It seemed like it took forever to reach her, but as soon as he did, he kissed her. All the feelings that had been confined finally pushed out.
" You really are the world's greatest detective," Diana said with a wink.
" You doubted it?" the Dark Knight asked, " I love you Diana, and I have and always will, but I don't date, I have always been that way. But that isn't quite my reasoning, Diana I will not put you in danger, anymore than you already are in. If my enemies knew I was with somebody, they wouldn't stop until they got to me, through her." he said with more emotion than anyone would have ever guessed could come from such a dark figure.
" You listen to me Bruce Wayne, I will not get hurt, by paparazzi or Joker, or anyone. I am a Amazon, and a big girl, I can stand up for myself. I love you Bruce, like it or not. I want you more than anything, ever." she said.
" I don't want to risk you getting hurt, Diana," he said through somewhat clenched teeth.
" I risk my life everyday, I'm in the Justice League. The thing that WE started together, to save others. I have managed not to get hurt yet, why not take a chance? Life is full of opportunities, and sometimes you just need to take the risky way." she said trying to convince him to take the chance. Bruce sighed, defeated, and walked up to her and kissed her.
" I surrender. Would you like to go to the Charity Ball with me day after tomorrow?" he asked with a slight smile.
" Yes, of course," she said kissing him.
" Great I will pick you up at 6:30, unless you would like to stay here until then?" he said suggestively. She just answered him with a sweet kiss. They were together, at last.
