Cogsworth felt as if he couldn't take it anymore. The laziness of some of the servants was uncontrolabe. Some of them where unable to move in the first place. "Lumiere!" Cogsworth shouted. "Get up you lazy candlestick!" Cogsowrth was angry, but also scared for his friend's saftey. What if he had turned? It seemed unlikely because Cogsworth was more inhuman than him and hadn't turned yet. So where was that flirty bundle of wax?
When he wasn't in his room or Babette's, he started to look frantically for him. "Lumiere?" he called soflty. "Lumiere!?" he said louder. He found Lumiere sitting on the windowsill of the dusty attic. "Lumiere?" Cogsworth said, but Lumiere kept his eyes looking out the window. "What are you doing up here?" Cogsworth wondered. "Just thinking, cherie." Cogsworth started to chuckle. "When have you ever thought?" Lumiere sighed. Cogsworth saw that he had maybe hurt his friend's feelings. "Lumiere..." he started before his friend made of wax interuppted. "It's fine." he said quickly. Cogsworth took in a deep breath and laid his hand on where Lumiere's shoulder used to be. "Lumiere?" he said. "What's wrong?" Lumiere turned his face to his worried clock of a friend. "I just miss you, Cogsworth. The real you. Not some bossy, mean clock." Cogsowrth couldn't really retaliate because Lumiere never changed, only his body.
Cogsworth eventually got Lumiere downstairs. "Here he is." he said, dragging Lumiere into the room. "Now get to work!" Lumiere grumbled and started to work. Cogsworth started to walk off, but winked at Lumiere before he left, the candle winking back. That night Cogsworth touched the soft burn on his lips, thinking of what had really happened in that attic.
