"I think I want a garden" Sheena told Zelos one morning as she rested in his arms.
Zelos looked down at her and his red eyebrows perked in interest.
"Oh? What kind of garden are we talking about? You want some flowers out in the back, or a tree? I know an awesome florist in Meltokio that could set us up." Zelos considered the idea further. The florist 'had' decorated his entire estate back in Meltokio, and now brought different arrangements to the mansion daily. "This guy definitely knows his stuff, and he'd be able to do anything we asked him to."
"No, no, nothing like that!" She laughed and rolled over to look him in the eyes. "I wanna make a Zen garden. Just us two on our own, you know? It can be a special lil' project or something." She leaned in and gave Zelos a light peck on the cheek.
"But that sounds like work," he pouted as he rolled over to look at her "Can't we just get Dirk to do it for us? He could do it better than either of us could. And the florist…"
"That's not the point, silly." She persisted "I wanna do something special for our new home. Something that 'we' made. If I wanted Lloyd and Dirk to do it for us, I'd ask them. But I'm asking you. I want it to be our's…"
She sat up and looked down into his cool blue eyes and made the puppy face she knew he couldn't resist, leaning lower into his embrace. "Pleeeaase?..." She asked. He groaned in annoyance, but she knew he'd submitted.
When he tried, Zelos could be spoiled, unbearably self-centered, and impossible to motivate. He was without a doubt the most annoying person in all of Tethe'alla, but he loved her. They'd been through hell together, and he'd protected her with his life, helped her through hardship… There was just something about him, something 'noble' about how he acted…
They'd lie there for another hour before either of them would fall asleep, never saying a word, but knowing full-well what the other was thinking simply from the pattern of their heartbeats. They'd do anything for the other simply because they were young and in love, and that was all that mattered.
Authors Notes: Edited a teensy bit, thanks for the quick review(s). I made this one at least a year ago. I have lots more where this came from.
