AN: this was written from a prompt. I really do enjoy writing fics from prompts working with the first thing that pops into my head. Not 100 happy with the turn out but I'm going to share it all the same. If it makes you smile then I've done my job. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters from Doctor Who
What Waits Inside
"Doctor?" Rose asked confused.
"Yeah," he returned immediately, pulling his gaze from the sapphire sky.
"You closed the door yeah?" Rose looked from the Doctor to the door of the TARDIS which stood slightly ajar.
The Doctor stepped up beside his companion, left hand absently rubbing at his eye. "Uh yeah," he leaned in towards the door sniffing the air.
She looked up at him with a smile, and nudged him aside with her shoulder. "What do you think that's going to tell you?" she asked breathing deeply of the rich air, "We're in the middle of the bloody jungle I can't smell anything but the trees."
"Lilac and coconut."
"What?"
"Your shampoo," he said with a smirk.
Rose blinked at him surprised, feeling a slight blush creep onto her cheeks at the expression on his handsome face. "Well then, who's in there?"
"I think it's a relative of yours..." he mused eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Oh really," she raised a speculative eyebrow at that and pushed the TARDIS door opened. Her shoulders dropping at the sight. A small monkey was running rampant about the control room, swinging from whatever it could get it's hands or tail on. "You're not as funny as you think you are," Rose said looking back over her shoulder.
The Doctor was grinning from ear to ear, as he scratched the back of his head. "Now," he sighed, "How to get him out...I never did find the other monkey that got in here. Could hear it calling for months, I think the TARDIS liked the extra company, never could track down the room..." With a shrug the Doctor walked into the TARDIS, like it was every day.
