Really Wish You Knew
Chapter 1
"Goodnight mom, goodnight dad," Allie yelled as she ran up to her room. Even though it was about three weeks into summer, she decided to go to bed early. After reading a little bit, she turned off her light and rolled over to her stomach. She quickly fell asleep and a couple hours later there was a sharp tap on her window. Allie woke up and looked at her alarm clock. It was 4 in the morning on Friday. She groaned, rubbed her sleepy eyes and walked over to her window. She pulled up the blinds and and unlocked her window. She knew exactly who was out there and exactly what he wanted to go do.
"Hey, you wanna go out to the field," he asked.
"Sure, do you have the blanket?"
"Of course I do, come on," he said. Allie climbed down the tree branch by her bedroom window and then climbed down the wooden planks nailed to the tree trunk that her dad put for her to climb the tree. Her and her best friend, Joe, did this all the time during summer.
Joe had been her best friend ever since her parents moved to Wyckoff, New Jersey, when she was two. Her dads job moved them there and when they went to the local church, her parents met Kevin and Denise Jonas. As they were talking, they found out that they were actually next door neighbors. They spent a lot of time together and so did their children. Allie was an only child and Joe had three brothers. Allie became fast friends with all of the Jonases, but she became more friends with Joe and Nick, Joe's younger brother. Whenever she was mad at Joe, she could always turn to Nick. She told these boy's everything.
Now, it was the summer before Allie and Joe were seniors. Nick was going to be a freshman. Kevin, Joe's older brother, was going to be a sophomore at the local college and Frankie, Joe's youngest brother, was entering the first grade.
Allie and Joe ran to the field that was behind their houses and laid the blanket down in their usual spot. They laid down next to each other and looked up at the stars.
"You know, I was, like, dead asleep," Allie said, while yawning.
"Oh, I'm sorry poor baby," Joe said, mockingly.
Allie nudged Joe and put her head on his shoulder. They stayed there, looking up at the sky in silence. They soon both fell asleep. Allie woke up and quickly sat up. She noticed that the sun was coming up and she pushed Joe to wake him up. Joe rubbed his eyes and sat up.
"What time is it," Joe grumbled.
"You have the watch," Allie whisper-yelled. She was afraid that their parents were going to wake up soon and they would get in trouble. Even though they did this all the time, the one time they got caught, their parents were furious and they were grounded. So now when they sneak out, they make sure they are back in their rooms before their parents wake up in the morning. Joe looked at his watch and sighed.
"Calm down, it's only 5:30"
Their parents were waking up at 6 this morning because they were going out of state on a trip for their church. Allie and Joe got up and Joe wrapped up the blanket. They walked up to Allie's house.
"Alright, here you are milady," Joe said, as he bowed and waved his arm.
"What time are your parents leaving?" Allie asked.
"My parents are picking up your parents at 7:30, then they're heading to the airport"
"Ok, then I'll see you around 7:40"
"See you then," Joe said. He helped her up the homemade ladder and waited until she was back into her room. Joe, then walked back to his house. He climbed up the tree next to his window and stepped into his room. He laid down in his bed and sighed.
